A brand new trailer for the episodic interactive adventure game The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier debuts at The Game Awards 2016.
Following the reveal of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier‘s release date about a week ago, the developers for the game put together a new trailer for the third season of the interactive adventure game to be shown at The Game Awards 2016. As expected, the fresh piece of footage gave fans of the popular episodic series a glimpse into where the narrative is headed.
As seen in the trailer for The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier below, the third run for the game seems to take place a few years after the second season, as the story includes a somewhat older Clementine along with AJ. Not to mention, fans of the title get to see Season 3’s new playable character with Javier showing up on the scene after having been separated from his family since the outbreak.
According to Telltale Games, the developer is currently making sure that any previous data relating to player choices from the first two seasons of The Walking Dead will operate properly with its new cloud-based saving function. This is important for the studio to work out properly in order to tie in all the potential endings that fans may have experienced in the past so as to impact Season 3.
While the latest trailer for The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier will undoubtedly excite longtime fans of what many consider to be one of the best zombie video games of all time, there are some who might have lost interest along the way. One of the main complaints gamers have when it comes to The Walking Dead – or any recent Telltale title for that matter – is that the releases’ gameplay aspects are not on par with strong story elements. Maybe the third season will go on to expand gameplay options so as to quell such criticisms, but it’s anyone’s guess at the moment.
For those unaware, the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 3 is going to be released in two parts due to the fact that the content was too big to fit into one episode. Bearing that in mind, both pieces of the initial installment to the third season will be dubbed “The Ties That Bind” and are to come out simultaneously as a digital release on December 20.
Should there be fans out there wanting a physical copy of The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier, a “season pass” disc will become available on February 7th, 2017. Bearing all of this in mind, it will be interesting to see how fans who play the game intermittently react differently to the narrative’s progression in opposition to those who get every episode in one fell swoop on the physical version.
The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series – A New Frontier is set to become available digitally on December 20, 2016 for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, as well as Android and iOS devices.
