God of War, as a franchise, centers its narratives on familial relationships. Since the original God of War, Kratos has been defined by a loss of family and the contentious relationship he has with his father, Zeus. God of War's latest installment is no different, concentrating upon the relationship between Kratos and his son, Atreus.

Kratos undergoes significant character development as a result of his family in God of War, with Kratos and Atreus beginning to understand one another over the course of the game. Recently, Fast and the Furious family memes featuring Vin Diesel have saturated the internet and inserted themselves into other popular franchises. God of War has explicit nods to family throughout, but one fan has shared a cryptic Vin Diesel family meme that is perhaps a deeper cut than most if players are unassociated with the latest entry.

JCamson04 has shared their own iteration of the family meme, involving a sand bowl riddle puzzle in God of War. Because of the runic lettering and the fan's discreet subtlety, this meme may go over the heads of anyone who has not played or experienced this sequence. The puzzle involves a spinning mechanism embedded in a wall that Atreus activates from a sand bowl. As individual parts of the contraption rotate, players throw the Leviathan Axe to pin them in place and align runic symbols. Once it is aligned properly, Atreus will announce that the runic lettering reads "family," which answers the riddle: "As I alone can never be."

The fan's meme shows a screenshot of the completed puzzle, with a satisfied reaction coming from Fast and the Furious' Dominic Toretto. This hilariously implies that Vin Diesel's character is able to read the runes and determine that it says "family," resulting in his smile. Fans claim that Dom and Kratos would get along because of their visual similarities and their respect for family, with one fan suggesting that JCamson04 should have edited the image of Vin Diesel so that he had Kratos' iconic red tattoo.

JCamson04 leaves the riddle unsolved in their shared image, stating, "If you know, you know." This makes their meme far more subtle than most iterations on the internet, and necessitates that players are familiar with this particular puzzle in God of War. Either way, Kratos' mythology in God of War lends itself as a great adaptation for the meme and is an entertaining addition to the myriad family memes that have already been produced.

God of War is available now on PS4.
