Another great batch of trailers have been compiled for viewing pleasure as we’ve hit the end of the week. A lot of big names are covered in this edition of the roundup and some fun launch trailers have been released. We have every area of the board covered, from zombies and action to wizards and demolition derbies.

In this edition of the video game trailer roundup we’ve got some great stuff, including Lollipop Chainsaw, Hitman: Absolution, SSX, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Diablo 3, Awesomenauts, Ghost Recon Online, DiRT Showdown, and Risen 2.

James Gunn, one of Hollywood’s most talented horror filmmakers, joins Lollipop Chainsaw creative director, Suda 51 to give behind the scenes details of how this game became a reality. Looking to bring something different to the zombie genre, Gunn and Suda 51 wanted this game to be as extreme as possible for the fans. Going beyond anything that has been done before, Lollipop Chainsaw changes the game and invites players into a different kind of undead bloodfest – full of rainbows and romance.

Lollipop Chainsaw hits stores this summer on June 12 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Back at E3 2011, we gave Awesomenauts the top crown for best indie game of the showcase (check out our first hands-on demo impressions). From there the trailers for its characters started rolling out and our excitement grew. For a better look dtp Entertainment and Ronimo Games released a great gameplay trailer as well. Well the wait for this game is finally over and this 2D side-scrolling space adventure action extravaganza is here. Check out the launch trailer below!

Awesomenauts is now available for the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

SSX has been a huge staple in the extreme snowboarding genre for more than a decade and now Electronic Arts is letting gamers relive some of the franchise’s best moments with SSX‘s new Mt. Eddie and Classic Characters DLC. This downloadable content houses a new SSX Tricky inspired mountain with nine new race and trick drops, seven retro SSX characters, and three classic music tracks.

Take home the Mt. Eddie and Classic Characters DLC for SSX for just only $7.99 or 640 Microsoft points.

Looking for a little Ghost Recon action? First we’ve got a little trailer from Ghost Recon Online. We were originally introduced to each class that would be seen in the game, but then Ubisoft started introducing each class individually as their own separate trailer. Recon Class and Assault Class appeared first, now we are being shown the Specialist Class. This video highlights all of the weapon types, special abilities, and team upgrades of the Specialist Class.

There is no release date yet, but you can register for the Ghost Recon Online beta now.

For those ready for the release of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, this next video will keep the fire burning. Creative director Tommy Jacob gives us an introduction to  the 25-minute short live-action film Ghost Recon Alpha, which ties into Future Soldier. Right where Alpha leaves off, Future Soldier picks right up. The story takes place place immediately before a key turning point in the video game’s storyline, a vicious attack against a major European city. This short was directed by the Academy Award winning duo who did Logorama, an incredible little short based on branding. Check out the trailer for the movie below:

Be on the look out – as a secret code is hidden in the movie, enabling access via Ghost Recon Network to an exclusive weapon unlock playable in Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Ghost Recon Alpha will premiere in the US on G4TV on Thursday, May 3rd at 6:30 PM.

At Pax EAST, we were able to get a glimpse of Agent 47. Now Square Enix and IO Interactive have brought us a video that will introduce Agent 47 to the masses. This gameplay trailer is the first in a new series of videos created entirely of actual gameplay moments. The “Introducing: Agent 47” displays an in-depth look surrounding the world of Hitman Absolution. Stay tuned for future videos as they become available.

Hitman: Absolution is scheduled for a 2012 release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Barbarians, witch doctors, and now wizards – oh my! We now have three different classes featured in trailers for Diablo 3. The wizards specialize in arcane arts who deftly wield the energies of fire, ice, lightning, and even time itself in the pursuit of their enigmatic goals.

Diablo 3 will launch May 15 for PC and Mac.

DiRT Showdown is a derby busting, car crashing, rampage of carnage. Demolition cannot be stopped and before the game launches, this video is here to invite gamers to play the demo! The destruction of the game was seen months ago in one of the first trailers, but now it will be readily at your fingertips ready to get your smash on. Also announced in the trailer, if players send challenges to friends, the multiplayer mode will be unlocked. Watch the demo trailer below:

DiRT Showdown releases this month, May 25 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Yargggh mateys, we’re down to the final trailer in the round up and it’s the launch trailer for Risen 2: Dark Waters. Defeat the Kraken and be ruler of the sea or set sails for bolder waters? We’ve supplied players with our review and now the game is available to travel the seven seas. Unfortunately the console version of the title has been delayed, but that won’t stop land lubbin’ PC gamers, now will it?

The PC version of Risen 2 is out now. Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will have to wait until July 31 to snag their port in North America and August 3 in Europe.
