There is a lot of chaos going on in the trailer roundup this week. We’ve got twelve awesome videos that are packed full of action, adventure, and a little bit of fantasy. Some of these games are highly anticipated while others have flown under the radar but that doesn’t mean they aren’t just as good!
In this trailer round-up: Ni no Kuni, Lollipop Chainsaw, Legends of Pegasus, Forza Motorsport, Skylanders, Prototype 2, Skylanders Cloud Patrol, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Hybrid, Torchlight 2, PES 2013, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, and CryEngine 3.4.
Anyone who is a fan of My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, or Howl’s Moving Castle knows what the creative team behind Studio Ghibli is capable of. This time Ghibli is taking on the video game world in Ni no Kuni, a fantasy RPG that has had some delay issues as of late. If you ever wanted to explore the worlds of your favorite Hayao Miyazaki films, keep an eye out for this game. It was originally slated for a 2012 release on the PS3 but, due to unfortunate circumstances, we won’t see the game out until 2013:
Ni no Kuni is expected to release in the 1st quarter of 2013.
For those anxiously awaiting the release of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, the wait is over! The game released this week and CD Projekt RED has an epic launch trailer for us that brings together all the past elements of previous trailers that have lead up to this point. This launch trailer is full of excitement, mystery, and tons of action. The Witcher 2: AKEE looks like it will deliver an experience on the Xbox 360 that the original PC version could only dream of.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is available now for PC and Xbox 360.
Any Christiano Ronaldo fans will be pleased to see this teaser trailer for PES 2013. Pro Evolution Soccer has had an interesting rivalry against the FIFA franchise and our review of PES 2012 reassured soccer fans that they wouldn’t go wrong with the title. The trailer is short, sweet, and like a teaser, is designed to build hype. Another year, another sports game with an updated version. Will this be any better than before? Only time will tell.
No release date has been set but expect a full trailer for PES 2013 this coming week.
Kalypso Media has released the first gameplay visuals for Legends of Pegasus. Don’t let the name fool you, this isn’t about flying horses of ancient mythology. This real-time strategy game brings you to the forefront of deep space exploration. Colonizing new planets and arranging peaceful negotiations are just a part of Legends of Pegasus, but creating new civilizations are always trickier than you think. What kind of real-time space exploration would it be without battles? Customization of spacecrafts, factories, labs, and more are at a player’s disposal.

Kalypso Media will release Legends of Pegasus for Windows PC this summer.
Fans of those little Skylanders monsters are in for a treat with the new Skylanders Cloud Patrol. Bringing all the classic elements to the #1 kids game of 2011 to iOS, Cloud Patrol harbors new achievements, new rewards, and new magic – while keeping it in line with the series.
Skylanders Cloud Patrol is now available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
Turn 10 Studios has a treat for the car enthusiasts out there with their new video: “The Making of Forza Motorsport 4: Physics, Pirelli and Performance.” The video spotlights the partnership between Forza Motorsport and tire manufacturer Pirelli. Forza Motorsport 4 has some big things coming up (Porsche expansion pack, 2013 Viper SRT), but this trailer focuses on the development process involved with creating the perfect tire. Who wouldn’t want hard, physical, evidence to reassure them that the game is as realistic as possible?
Forza Motorsport 4 is available now for the Xbox 360.
Last week Ubisoft brought us a sneak peak of a mission walkthrough from Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that focused on stealth. Once again Ubisoft has delivered another video of a mission, but this time it’s all about the action. The preview begins again with the weapon customization menu and then the fun begins. All of the action and gameplay looks pretty fluid, check it out:
Need a little more blood, sexiness, and violence in this trailer roundup? We’ve got you covered. Unfortunately, this trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw doesn’t include the oh so loveable Jessica Nigri, but it does however focus on Juliet’s sisters, Cordelia and Rosalind. Sniper rifle in hand, Cordelia is an expert zombie hunter while their little sister, Rosiland, may seem innocent, but she can handle her zombies with ease. Check out Game Rant’s first hands-on impression from PAX East 2012.

Lollipop Chainsaw will be out June 12, 2012 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
The much anticipated sequel Prototype 2 will be available this coming week. Radical Entertainment has recently released one fantastic trailer and one gruesome TV spot. The “Pack Leader” trailer gives us a first look at one of the new abilities that James Heller is able to utilize by controlling the infected. He can control active enemies as allies to unleash action from afar – as players sit back and let the chaos unfold. Sick of controlling the puppets? Let them self-destruct onto your enemies.
Revenge can be a powerful ally as well. Equipped with the power of Johnny Cash, this TV spot for Prototype 2 hits all the right notes. This trailer shows James Heller looking upon Manhattan after the devastation left upon the world by the Blacklight virus. He must seek out Mercer in order to exact his revenge for his fallen loved ones.
Prototype 2 releases April 24, 2012, on PS3 and Xbox 360, followed by a PC release on July 24, 2012.
Hybrid gives us a look behind the scenes with the developers at 5th Cell. Known for Scribblenauts, 5th Cell has taken a different approach with Hybrid as a third-person tactical shooter. This trailer gives gamers a walkthrough with the CEO and creative director, Jeremiah Slaczka narrating. Hybrid is a fast-paced 3v3 air and ground combat game that is very strategic with many weapons in the user’s arsenal.
Players looking for Hybrid can find it exclusively on the Xbox Live Arcade this summer.
Last we heard about Torchlight 2, it was late 2011 and that the game would be delayed, until 2012. Well, it’s the year 2012 and Runic Games has presented the world with Torchlight 2’s opening cinematic video. This hopefully means the game will be close to completion soon – and released. With this cinematic trailer, we can only assume good things are on the horizon.
There is still no word on a release date for Torchlight 2, but expect its arrival sometime this year.
Last, but not least, Crytek unveiled their latest addition to their award-winning development program, CryENGINE 3.4. It was only a month ago that Crytek released a spectacular preview of what they were capable of visually. Now, ahead of a full gameplay trailer for Crysis 3, the studio has given us a little more in-depth look into their engine with this new update 3.4 update announcement.
