In this week's roundup of gaming news, the Pokemon Presents showcase brought a ton of updates for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as well as Pokemon Legends: Arceus. 343 Industries provided Halo fans with a development update on Halo Infinite, which unfortunately came with a few downsides. Activision also finally unveiled Call of Duty: Vanguard with its first official trailer, alongside an event in Warzone. Pokemon Presents Brings New Details for Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, Legends: Arceus

This week brought on a ton of updates for the near future of the Pokemon franchise, including Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, as well as Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Firstly, Pokemon Unite is receiving its first wave of additional content with Mamoswine and Sylveon, while the mobile version of Unite releases on September 22. Pokemon Go is receiving Galar region Pokemon for the game's fifth anniversary, and updates are coming to Masters EX and Cafe as well.

As for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Nintendo elaborated on new and existing features coming to the fourth generation Pokemon games; things like the Underground content, as well as player customization are all changed in the remakes. While the developer is still committed to a holiday release for the game, Halo Infinite will be missing co-op play in the campaign, as well as Forge mode. Due to the commitment to release, according to Joseph Staten, these features were eschewed to meet the fall release date. At this time, Halo Infinite does not have a confirmed release date.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Officially Revealed in Warzone

This week, after multiple rumors, leaks, as well as a tease by Activision itself, Call of Duty: Vanguard was officially revealed to fans. Viewable as a trailer, as well as a train assault live event inside Call of Duty: Warzone, the WW2 shooter showed off details of its setting and campaign story. Cyberpunk 2077's 1.3 Update Changes and Free DLC

This week, CD Projekt Red deployed the latest 1.3 patch to Cyberpunk 2077, bringing several fixes and changes to the game alongside the first round of free DLC. Various bug fixes were implemented for quests, several gameplay enhancements, as well as a few quality-of-life changes like additional saves/quicksaves and optimizing crafting component upgrades. Saints Row Reboot Being Announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live

Volition is officially teasing the return of Saints Row for Gamescom this year, albeit in a potentially new form. The initial teaser of the next mainline Saints Row game specifically stated "reboot," with Volition seemingly confirming that this is a completely new entry in the franchise, instead of a remake/remaster. Saints Row's next entry is planned to be revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live showcase as well.

Nvidia Updates GPU Shortage Projections, Supply Constrained Until 2022

Nvidia appears to be updating its projected GPU supply numbers, extending previous supply delays even further back from initial projections. Nvidia had previously warned potential consumers that the GPU supply shortage would continue well into 2021. However, according to Nvidia's latest projections for GPU market supply, Nvidia "expect(s) that we will see a supply-constrained environment for the vast majority of next year," inferring that GPU shortages will continue well into 2022.

While Fortnite has never exactly been the most unique battle royale out there, it's certainly visibly distinct. However, with the introduction of the new "Imposters" mode, Fortnite has seemingly borrowed the gameplay foundation established by social deduction game Among Us The massively popular phenomneon has since inspired countless similar experiences, all with different degrees of originality. Inner Sloth developers have since criticized "Imposters" for its lack of originality compared to Among Us.
