Horror games have always been popular among thrill seeking gamers and lovers of the macabre. Many of these games use their terrifying visuals and dark content to tell stories and give players experiences that can only be done with the horror genre. Like with many other popular pieces of media, members of the cosplay community have embraced horror games with all the blood and guts they entail. This can especially be seen with how the community has already latched on to Resident Evil 8's Lady Dimitrescu.

With the talent behind the cosplay community, many cosplayers have brought the horrors previously exclusive to games into the real world. Although they are all very impressive, most people would not want to run into these cosplayers in the woods at night.

Five Night's at Freddy's - Scrap Baby by gaia_spaziani

While this photo may seem like a sculpture or a figure, it is actually a cosplay of the terrifying Scrap Baby from the Five Nights at Freddy's series. This Italian cosplayer created this cosplay with glowing eye lights and full articulation, allowing this killer animatronic to no longer be bound to its original video game home.

Scrap Baby originally appeared in Five Night's at Freddy's: Sister Location as one of the game's main villains under the name of Circus Baby. Being an animatronic possessed by the ghost of William Afton's daughter, Elizabeth Afton, she shares in her father's murderous appetite. After the events of Circus Baby's introductory game, she was combined in the animatronic amalgamation of Ennard for a short time before eventually being purged from the collective.

Having to use scraps to reassemble herself turned Circus Baby's appearance into a far more frightening one. Under the new name of Scrap Baby, she hunted the player once more in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria Simulator. Her hunt ended however when she was lit on fire and melted down in order to free Elizabeth's soul from the animatronic body.

Silent Hill 2 - Pyramid Head by thebubblypsycho

One of the first names that horror gamers may think of when it comes to terrifying monsters and killers is Pyramid Head. Initially premiering in Silent Hill 2, thebubblypsycho on Instagram has revealed an impressive rendition of this intense and merciless killer. Despite appearing in multiple titles and in the Silent Hill movies, Pyramid Head's biggest purpose is as a judge and executioner for Silent Hill 2's protagonist, James Sunderland. Multiple instances of the game are spent where players can do nothing but run from the imposing killer.

With a large part of Silent Hill 2 and its symbolism being up for interpretation, there are many different theories surrounding Pyramid Head. One of the most popular ones is that he represented James's guilt over his wife's death and desire to be punished. The large knife that Pyramid Head drags across the ground is also often read as the carrying of a burden as James also can get it as a weapon. While it can kill most Silent Hill monsters, it remains slow and heavy, making it clear that it's not worth having.

Dead by Daylight - The Doctor by trashi.cosplay

Dead by Daylight is filled with many different heartless killers, but one that many don't like to encounter is the Doctor. This killer however is now on the prowl with trashi.cosplay having created a cosplay with a perfect recreation of the Doctor's deranged face from self-experimentation.

Often found wielding a metal bat, the Doctor hunts survivors in Dead by Daylight by sending out surges of electricity to shock all within range. Getting hit not only will cause the survivor to scream, but will also cause them to lose some of their sanity. The more sanity a player loses, the more hallucinations they will begin to see that do nothing but help the Doctor in his hunt.

The Doctor's real identity is that of Herman Carter, a doctor hired by the CIA to perform brain experiments in order to extract information from prisoners. While good at his job, Herman's inhumane intentions were more than even the CIA expected. He disappeared one day without a trace leaving nothing but his boss with his head peeled open connected to electrodes behind.

Resident Evil 8 - Daniela by kuromiketsu

While Lady Dimitrescu has been getting a lot of attention, her vampire daughters also have a large following by those who have seen the new Resident Evil 8 trailer or played the demo. With the Maiden demo, players find themselves eventually being hunted by one of these daughters named Daniela, who has been portrayed in cosplay by kuromiketsu on Instagram.

Despite being the only currently named vampire daughter, not much is known about Daniela. She seems to have powers relating to flies that allow her to teleport to other places and possibly attack Ethan. Other than her fangs that she can use to bite, Daniela also wields a sickle that can be used to gut her prey. Hopefully much more will be discovered about who she is upon the full release of Resident Evil 8.

NightCry - Scissorwalker by donttouchmymilk

The Scissorwalker is a killer that stalks players throughout Nightcry, the spiritual successor to the Clock Tower series. To bring this character to life, cosplayer donttouchmymilk has taken on the appearance of this pained but deadly stalker.

Trapped on a cruise ship, players can never truly get away from the immortal Scissorwalker killer unless they find out why it has appeared. While players can defend themselves, they can only do it so often before the exhaustion becomes too much making them vulnerable for the kill. The only way to get away from the Scissorwalker is to hide, but players need to be careful when doing so. Certain hiding places won't be suitable for actually hiding oneself and actually can make it easier for the Scissorwalker to kill them.

The Scissorwalker's disturbing appearance is due it being designed by famed designer, Masahiro Ito. Many would recognize his work in the Silent Hill games as the designer of Pyramid Head and many more of the creatures lurking inside the fog filled town.
