Character design is a very important aspect of making a fascinating game that players will be interested in playing. However, sometimes the designs of these characters, although amazing, can be incredibly questionable especially when they seem to defy the laws of physics.

Players have been questioning who these characters' hairdressers are. Especially as they are capable of giving them haircuts that defy gravity, as their hair stands proudly atop their heads with not a single hair out of place. These hairstyles show no hint of falling anytime soon as whatever magic keeps them in place shows no sign of budging.

10 Guile – Street Fighter

Guile fixing his hair in Street Fighter 6

Guile was supposed to appeal to American fans of the franchise, especially with his flattop haircut. However, the amount of length on top is rather peculiar and unrealistic that doesn't budge an inch when he is fighting. The length has actually fluctuated across games with SNK vs Capcom: SVC Chaos seeing his hair at its tallest length yet.

Players have questioned how much hair gel this man must use in order to keep it exactly in its place. Capcom did answer this, mentioning that Guile uses a very special-order army hairspray.

9 Cloud Strife – Final Fantasy 7

Hairstyles can't be mentioned without including Cloud and his spiky blonde hair that even defied gravity, his original design by far has the largest of spikes that stick out from his head. The point in which they finish is probably as lethal as the ginormous broadsword Cloud carries around with him.

Unfortunately, as of recent titles Cloud's hair has seen it shrink to a more realistic size with many of the spikes removed or reduced. This doesn't stop the ones that remain being questioned by players on how it stays up, but it's sad to see so many of them gone.

8 Daryan Crescend - Ace Attorney

This shark themed villain takes his aesthetic to the next level. Even his hair with its white tip is supposed to be a reference to a white tip shark combined with the shape being the snout of a goblin shark.

With how far the haircut hangs over Daryan's face it's a surprise that it doesn't droop down more often. This can only be seen when he is nervous where he uses it as a sort of shield for his face. Another hilarious feature of Daryan's hair is how it bounces when he laughs which can be very entertaining to watch.

7 June Lin Milliam – Star Gladiator

As a rhythmic gymnast it is of no surprise that June needs to have her hair up at all times completely out of the way of her face for both her sport and when combating foes in Star Gladiator. However, the scale in which she has done this is a little over the top.

June's hair can be seen in two ponytails that sit firmly on top of her head and then curl at the end. Maybe she uses intense hairspray to hold the curls in place, but it doesn't explain how two tiny hair ties are able to hold up that much weight of hair without it falling back down onto her head.

6 Musashi – Musashi: Samurai Legend

Many players agree that this one of the worst hairstyles in gaming history. It can't even be explained on what is actually going on with this haircut other than it just keeps going in this maze of brown hair, that twists at unnatural angles.

Somehow, through gravity defying means Musashi's hair doesn't even drag along the ground but floats above it as he takes part in swordplay with his foes. It's surprising that this hair doesn't give him a disadvantage as enemies could easily grab it.

5 Heihachi Mishima - Tekken

Heihachi has a distinct hairstyle across the entire Tekken franchise, although he has little hair, the two parts he does have stick proudly up from either side of his head. As an old man his hair has begun to gray and thin making it possible to style it how he does in Tekken.

Although old, Heihachi is still down to fight as his muscles aren't just for show. Guile must be lending his special strength hairspray across franchises as Heihachi's hair although thin remains in place no matter how many punches he takes to the head.

4 Poseidon – Hades

Many of the characters in Hades have gravity defying hairstyles that have no explanation other than that many of the characters are gods and goddesses that can do whatever they wish. By far the most dramatic hairstyle out of them all is owned by Poseidon whose hair floats above his head like seaweed.

Granted that Poseidon is the god of the sea and therefore his design is supposed to mimic this. His hair looks to always be wet and therefore maybe he can use his god powers to little effort to keep his hair raised and waving.

3 Cereza – Bayonetta

Bayonetta delivering the "unfashionably late" line in the latest Bayonetta 3 trailer

As a titular witch plenty of Cereza's, better known as Bayonetta's, power is channeled through her hair. Although in the first game she is shown with a beehive hairstyle that is meant to mimic a witch's hat, her hair actually reaches further than this as Bayonetta uses her own hair to make the clothes she wears.

This is actually an interesting mechanic in the game as her hair can grow to immense sizes such as creating a large dragon that hunts down and destroys her enemies. Therefore, Bayonetta doesn't only defy the laws of gravity but also reality.

2 Lionwhyte – Brutal Legend

As part of the Hair Metal faction in Brutal Legend it is of no surprise to players that General Lionwhyte has the largest amount of hair in the game that fans out behind him. Just like his name, his hair mimics that of a lion's mane when the wind catches it, however he is also designed to look like the goblin king himself from Labyrinth.

Even with all this hair, Lionwhyte still attempts to wear a police hat that hilariously balances on top of the mounds of dirty blond hair, forever threatening to slide off.

1 The Spirit – Dead By Daylight

closeup of The Spirit screaming in Dead By Daylight

Perhaps it's because she's a ghost, but the Spirit's hair floats above her head as she hunts for survivors in Dead By Daylight. In many cases a player that is working on a generator is more likely to see her hair and hear her screech before realizing entirely that it is The Spirit approaching.

It is however only her original skin and alternate options of it that have this flowing ghostly hair, as her rarer cosmetics such as the student outfits puts her hair up. So it can't float up into the entity.
