The 2020 Nacon Connect digital event kicked off with an exciting new trailer. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 isn't the only upcoming video game RPG to be based on the hit TTRPG. Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is coming in 2021, and the new trailer is creepy and compelling.

Swansong will be set in 21st-century Boston and revolves around three characters under the rule of a vampire Prince attempting to reinstate the Camarilla sect and their devotion to keeping vampires secret. The trailer shows a shootout that will begin the game, giving the players the mission to uncover the identity of the person (or vampire) behind the attack. Like Bloodlines 2Swansong will deal with how different vampires deal with the eponymous "Masquerade" of vampires blending into the human world, and those who violate it.

Swansong was first shown at PDXCON 2019 as part of the World of Darkness franchise's new stab at bringing back the Vampire: The Masquerade video games. This cinematic new trailer delves deeper into Swansong's story and its focus on morally gray characters and narrative twists and turns.

The Vampire: The Masquerade franchise has changed in many ways since it was solely a tabletop game, where players had to describe their actions and characters to others around the table. The Swansong trailer displays stunning graphics and is at least partially voiced-over. Unlike the TTRPG, Swansong will guide the player in a set storyline, although if it's anything like Bloodlines 1, there will be plenty of sidequests, memorable characters, and morally ambiguous choices for characters to choose as they navigate a vampiric version of Boston.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2021.
