Earlier, Xbox's Phil Spencer responded to a recent post from the official Steam twitter announcing the new Steam Deck handheld, and he shared some positive wishes for Valve Software and its developers. He expressed his surprise at the new gaming PC and congratulated the team behind the Steam Deck on getting people excited to be able to play their games wherever they go.

Other commenters shared their opinions on the new Steam Deck, and the results are mostly positive with some mixed opinions on it. Some commenters displayed more favorable responses to the Steam Deck and are eager to purchase it. Other commenters weren't too impressed by the reveal and have doubts about it, with some noting the Steam Deck's price as a deal-breaker. Then there are others on the fence who are reserving judgement until they see the device in action when it releases.

According to the official website, the Steam Deck will allow users to play their favorite PC games from Steam on the move. The Steam Deck is described as an "all-in-one" portable PC gaming handheld. It can run major AAA video games well and will be comfortable for long play sessions. The new gaming handheld will also be able to perform other Steam features, such as Steam Chat, Cloud saving, access Remote Play on Steam, and more. It will come with a new version of the SteamOS operating system that's optimized for a "handheld gaming experience."

Players will be able to access their game libraries on the Steam Deck and play them wherever they are, they just need to power it on and log in to start playing. The new Steam Deck will also come with three different storage options with increasing prices. However, there are no in-game differences between them when it concerns frame rate or graphics quality. According to the main website, the Steam Deck starts shipping in 2021 to the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. It will begin shipping to more regions in 2022.

The Steam Deck is due for release in December 2021.
