Valve co-founder Gabe Newell has long been a revered luminary within the PC gaming community, as his company has put out several of the most popular multiplayer releases in existence, such as Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and Dota 2. Speaking of the lattermost game, the MMORPG's development team has decided to bring Gaben himself into the title as an announcer by way of "The Gabe Newell Mega Kills Pack".

As inferred by the trailer below for Dota 2's next announcer pack, "The Gabe Newell Mega-Kills Pack" will ostensibly have the Valve co-founder drolly delivering lines like "This reminds me of the Steam Summer Sale" and "Please email me at gaben@valvesoftware.com and let me know about your rampage" while matches are being played. Plus, the video contains a fun little joke about Half-Life 3 that has Gaben struggling to say a certain number aloud.

For those unaware, the creation of "The Gabe Newell Mega Kills Pack" is Valve's way of celebrating The International, which is Dota 2's annual worldwide tournament hosted by the developer that takes place in Vancouver, Canada. Those looking to obtain the Valve head honcho's voice pack for the MMORPG will be able to do so by purchasing The International Battle Pass, with its base "Level 1" iteration going for $10, and the "Level 75" version costing $37.

Gaben's inclusion as an announcer in Dota 2 should please the MMORPG's legions of fans, as "The Gabe Newell Mega Kills Pack" ought to provide an added bit of silly, self-referential comedy to some intense match-ups. Of course, should players want a little less geniality in their announcer's humor, Dota 2 also offers a Rick and Morty pack that features the two titular characters of the animated show from Adult Swim serving up some off-the-wall quips.

Valve's Dota 2 is available now for PC.
