Steam has published a full and comprehensive list of all the upcoming sale events that users can look forward to over the course of 2023. As the biggest official game marketplace available for PC, Steam's themed sales and other assorted events give users an opportunity to substantially upgrade their game libraries on the cheap, and this isn't going to change anytime soon, from the looks of it.

While it's had plenty of competition over the years in the form of Ubisoft Connect, EA Play, and, most prominently, the Epic Games Store, Steam has stayed its course just the same. The owner and developer of the platform, Valve, has managed to eke out a very significant market share for itself, slowly becoming almost synonymous with PC gaming as a result of its efforts.

It's not particularly strange, then, that one of Valve's most powerful Steam features will be leveraged quite heavily over the course of 2023, much as has always been the case. Specifically, users who enjoy themed sales and the limited-time "Steam Fest" offerings have much to look forward to, as the latest official blog post confirms what's coming in 2023. Similar in nature to this year's Steam Mystery Fest, events such as the end-of-April Puzzle Fest are going to continue giving Steam users access to substantial discounts. These smaller events, however, will usually be overshadowed by Valve's Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter Sales — all of which now have official availability dates for 2023.

The importance of dedicated Steam sales cannot be overstated, and this is almost certainly going to continue to be the case, as the audience of Steam users is only growing. 2022's Steam Autumn Sale was an immense success, with Valve citing 1.4 million first-time buyers using it to join the fray. This means that, even though veteran Steam users enjoy the benefits of Valve's sales, the events are equally capable of drawing in fresh audiences as well, no matter how old the concept might be.

It goes without saying that gamers looking to add some great Steam Deck-verified RPGs to their libraries will be able to do so as part of one of 2023's many upcoming Steam sales, but the same can be said about virtually any other game genre, too. From the Sports Fest in mid-May all the way to Strategy Fest in late August, all it takes is a bit of patience at this point.

Naturally, buying games via Steam is just one way to bolster one's PC gaming library. Alternative retailers have big sales all their own, for example, and this can lead to some truly stellar deals in some instances. Fanatical's recent $25 bundle included 25 games in total, which is by far more cost-effective than the majority of deals available via official Steam sales.
