Valorant has been out for a little bit over a month now, and players are getting more and more familiar with the game, it's mechanics, and the ten different Agents available to play in the closed beta.

These Agents are split into four different classes: Initiator, Controller, Duelist, and Sentinel. Omen fits into the Controller category and can be pretty effective in the right hands. Let's take a look at Omen and some tips on how to get the most out of playing him:

10 TELEPORT EARLY ROUND

One of Omen's abilities, Shrouded Step, allows him to teleport a short distance. In the first few seconds of a round, this can do a lot to confuse the enemy team; they'll be coming out and looking at where your team should have to exit from, but meanwhile, you've teleported somewhere they weren't looking and have an easy kill on your hands.

This definitely isn't something that's going to work every time, but it's a good way to get an early match advantage.

9 TELEPORT INTO COVER

Sometimes in Valorant, you're going to get pinned down, forced into a location you don't necessarily want to be in, but you can't leave without getting your head taken off.

With Omen, escaping is pretty simple; just teleport through the enemy's line of sight and go along your merry way. The enemy might not even be the wiser that this happened, opening up the possibility of a pretty cheeky flank.

8 TELEPORT VERTICALLY

Omen's teleport also allows him to get some cool vertical angles not available to many different characters. Being in an unorthodox spot can really throw an enemy off, as they have to choose where to look when they round a corner. If they choose wrong, and they usually will if you're somewhere high that is generally inaccessible to most characters, then you've got another free kill, ripe for the taking.

By the time the next round comes along, they may choose to look at the vertical angle first; play the ground-level angle, and you've just scored a second free kill.

7 SMOKE PUSH

Omen, like a few other characters in Valorant, has access to smoke cover with his Dark Cover ability. He can use this ability through walls, and can precisely control the distance at which the smoke activates, making him the Agent with some of the most accurate smoke in the game.

This smoke can be used to push an enemy team by taking away one of their sightlines and rushing the site, though this can be an incredibly risky tactic.

6 SMOKE DEFENSE

This smoke can also be used to the advantage of the defenders. This smoke can force Attackers to enter a site blindly, making them easy pickings unless they choose the right angle to look at immediately upon leaving the smoke.

The odds of this are pretty low, especially if you aren't standing the same place every single defensive round.

5 BLIND RIGHT BEFORE PUSH

Omen has another ability, Paranoia, which doesn't necessarily blind the enemy team, but it does limit their vision enough to give you a severe advantage in the gunfight.

This ability can pass through walls just like Dark Cover, meaning you can activate from perfect safety and come around the corner assured that your enemy is going to have a tough time seeing much of anything, making it the perfect opportunity to erase them from the round.

4 ULTIMATE TELEPORT BEHIND ENEMY LINES

Omen's Ultimate ability allows him to essentially teleport anywhere on the map, while at the same time covering an enemy's minimap as he does so.

This can easily create flanking opportunities for you, though keep in mind the enemy team is going to know you're teleporting and might anticipate the flank.

3 COORDINATE PINCHES WITH TEAM

With Omen's ability to get to a lot of places on the map with relative ease, he has the unique opportunity to create pinches with his teammates, hitting the enemy team from two very different angles. Map knowledge is going to help make this possible, as will good communication with your team.

A good pinch is going to force the enemy team out of cover and into you or your teammates' ready-and-waiting crosshairs, making for a pretty easy fight.

2 PLAY AGGRESSIVE/TAKE RISKS

Because almost all of Omen's abilities are there to create situations that give him the advantage in a gunfight, he is most suited towards an aggressive, risk-taking playstyle.

Sure, not every creative flank or bold play is going to go your way, but if you continue hitting the enemy team with a variety of aggressive plays, you're going to have some massive success on some rounds.

1 CONFUSE THE ENEMY

With this aggressive playstyle, it can be pretty easy to confuse the enemy, as well. Omen can be almost anywhere, and a good Omen is going to keep the enemy looking over their shoulders for the majority of the match.

Keep coming up with new and creative ways to hit the enemy, always ready to switch to a new tactic the moment the last becomes predictable. Pretty soon, the enemy is going to be jumping at shadows, and then you've got them exactly where you want them.
