Players of the new Riot Games title Valorant can see its hero-based tactical FPS approach to be a fresh break from similar titles like Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Additionally, Valorant offers a new take on bomb chase mechanic by giving players access to 11 Agents, each with their unique abilities. This factor makes each match unique, with every squad going into battle with a different lineup.

Unfortunately, having to absorb all this information might be overwhelming for new players. However, this caveat doesn't mean newbies can't be Valorant pros. In fact, gamers who analyze each Agent's skillset can find quick and unique ways to dominate matches.

11 Breach (Initiator)

Breach specializes in starting clashes. As such, players should pay close attention to how they use their skills to initiate a clash instead of using them mid-combat. Thanks to his abilities, Breach can enjoy a bit of distance while disrupting enemy formation.

Breach players on the defensive should use Flashpoint on walls facing control point entrances to blind foes. Moreover, Breach on the offensive should use Aftershock to wreak havoc on an enemy's defensive formation. He can spam Fault Line to disrupt enemies on either situation and use (Ult) Rolling Thunder to incapacitate rushing foes.

10 Brimstone (Controller)

Brimstone players can capitalize on buffing allies and giving them the advantage in firefights. For instance, Brimstone should immediately set up Sky Smokes in contested control points. After this, teammates can do the traditional "strike with the smoke" tactic, or stay low and strike after the enemy ignores the smoke cloud.

Moreover, Brimstone can use Incendiary when securing escape routes. However, they can opt for a Stim Beacon if the team needs to hold the line. Lastly, (Ult) Orbital Strike can lure enemies out of Spike deployment points so Brimstone's team can defuse and claim the match.

9 Cypher (Sentinel)

Cypher players can position his signature Spycam near entrances and windows facing wide areas, giving him a full view of enemies. With this information, Cypher can place traps that can disrupt the enemy's movement.

For instance, Trapwires can be placed between two walls that reveal, fazes, and tethers enemies. This ability reveals whether nearby control points are compromised. Meanwhile, Cypher can give the team a defensive boost with Cyber Cage, which blocks the vision of enemies inside it. His (Ult) Neural Theft instantly reveals where all living enemies are, which is useful when identifying locations to secure or defend.

8 Jett (Duelist)

Jett utilizes her mobility to complement her hit-and-run tactics, making her devastating when catching enemies by surprise. Gamers who play around the map can use Jett's abilities to zig-zag through the battlefield with Tailwind. Additionally, they can easily use Updraft to propel Jett to escape to higher ground.

When ambushing foes, Jett can use Cloudburst to obstruct her presence which, when used with (Ult) Blade Storm, can easily end a clash. Alternatively, Jett can rely on hitting enemies from a distance, only zooming in for the kill with Tailwind, Cloudburst, and Blade Storm.

7 Omen (Controller)

Omen specializes in misdirection, making him useful for two specific tactics. Utility-wise, Omen can accompany heavy-DPS allies to skirmishes. His signature Dark Cover obstructs views of defending enemies, allowing his teammates to pick them apart. His Paranoia can easily counteract DPS foes, as reduced vision can greatly hinder their offensive strategies.

Combat-wise, Omen becomes a literal roamer. His Shrouded Step allows him to quickly teleport to escape or aid foes. Lastly, his (Ult) From The Shadows can teleport him anywhere in the map, allowing him to either deploy the Spike instantly or even ambush defenders to defuse it.

6 Phoenix (Duelist)

Phoenix excels in facing enemies head-on, with his abilities disrupting the flow of combat. His signature Hot Hands can create enough fire zones to scatter enemies in a defensive formation, while Curveball can easily force opponents out of corners.

Moreover, Blaze generates a firewall that not only provides AOE damage, but also obstructs enemy vision, allowing Phoenix's allies to reposition themselves as needed. Lastly, (Ult) Run It Back serves as free rez for Phoenix, allowing him to make a vicious counterattack while opponents already depleted their resources.

5 Raze (Duelist)

Unlike other Duelists, Raze relies on heavy AOE damage to hit enemies at once. Others think Raze might be too OP with these abilities, but this doesn't mean players should just attack without paying close attention to aim.

Her signature Paint Shells can scatter enemies with burst AOE, while sticky Blast Packs can secure integral control points by attacking assaulting enemies. Meanwhile, Raze can attack specific enemies with the Boom Bot, which follows a target within its cone. Lastly, (Ult) Showstopper gives Raze a rocket launcher for massive AOE.

4 Reyna (Duelist)

New character Reyna serves as a great disruptor, thanks to her Soul Orbs. Her signature Dismiss enables her to escape sticky situations easily which, when used in tandem with Devour, can make her heal quickly and get back to the fight.

Moreover, Reyna can disrupt team clashes with Leer, which punishes enemies that look into her orb with Nearsight. This ability disrupts their vision for as long as the eye is present, making them vulnerable to other attacks and Reyna's (Ult) Empress, which grants her frenzy and insane resource regeneration abilities.

3 Sage (Sentinel)

Sage can easily hold the line against enemies with her abilities. Her signature Healing Orb constantly provides heals to allies, making Sage great rear support.

However, where Sage shines is with her purchasable abilities. Her Barrier Orb generates a solid wall, making her perfect to setup quick defensive lines. Moreover, Slow Orb creates a slowing field that can halt enemy combatants. With these two combined, Sage can defend a control point while her allies get to her. Lastly, her (Ult) Resurrection enables Sage to resurrect allies, bringing them back to the fight.

2 Sova (Initiator)

Sova makes use of different bolts to manipulate the environment to her advantage. Her signature Recon Bolt can reveal enemies within its line of sight. Moreover, her deployable Owl Drone not only serves as good recon, but enemy locations get broadcasted to Sova if the Drone's tracking darts hit an enemy.

She makes full use of these tracking abilities to time her combat initiation. Her Shock Bolt can disrupt enemy formations when timed properly, with her (Ult) Hunter's Fury capable of launching three wall-piercing blasts that deal devastating damage.

1 Viper (Controller)

Due to the poisonous nature of her Viper's skills, Viper players can use her signature Toxic Screen which can easily push assailants away or towards her other traps.

Snake Bite positions a poison emitter on a specific zone, weakening enemies while entering contested points. Meanwhile, Poison Cloud can perpetually protect zones thanks to its long-lasting nature. Lastly, Viper's (Ult) Viper's Pit can release a vicious AOE that reduces total HP and vision range of enemies, making them vulnerable for a counter-attack.
