Valorant just released as a full game on the PC, and with the fans' excitement of the first-person shooter came the question of whether or not the game could also come out for other systems. Anna Donlon, Valorant's executive producer, told fans during an interview that Riot Games is currently testing the game on consoles.

Riot Games released the full game of Valorant after the closed beta brought a lot of attention to the first-person shooter. When an MVP Overwatch esports player switches to Valorant's scene, that shows something about the gaming community's positive response to the game and its future potential. Riot Games seems to be testing the waters of the game's performance on other consoles.

On June 3, Anna Donlon spoke to GameSpot as a part of the Play For All event that the outlet put on. During this interview, the executive producer did confirm that Riot Games is currently testing the game on various consoles, saying that this is an idea that the company has been entertaining. While Riot Games is "prototyping" the game for different consoles, Donlon said that this doesn't mean that Valorant will necessarily be coming to console.

While Donlon did report that Riot Games is playing with the idea of Valorant for consoles, the executive producer also said that the company has a few reservations about porting the game to other systems. She told GameSpot that the team working on this game isn't sure if Valorant's experience translates well to other consoles and may lose the quality that the team wishes to keep. Donlon is also not sure if players would be on the same competitive level if they're not on the same platform, and she doesn't want to compromise the competitive integrity of the game for anyone. While this isn't a "yes" to bringing the game to console, it certainly isn't a "no" either.

For now, Riot Games has their hands full with the Valorant launch. While it would be great to see the game available on more systems, the company needs to focus on the problems the PC version has, like  Valorant players cheating. Once the PC version is on more stable footing, Riot Games can maybe focus on porting this game to other platforms.

Valorant is now available on PC.
