Riot Games recently put up a job posting to work on Valorant for consoles. There had been rumors in the past that Valorant would be coming to PlayStation and Xbox. This recent listing seems to be a convincing clue.First released in 2020, Valorant has become one of the most popular competitive FPS games out there. Last year, Riot Games confirmed that Valorant was headed to mobile. It will reportedly have the same format as its PC counterpart. This also raised questions whether the game would be ported to other consoles.RELATED: G2 Gozen Members Become First Women Valorant & CSGO World ChampionsPrevious job listings on Riot Games' websites and datamined clues seemed to indicate that Valorant on consoles was happening. But their latest job listing for a Game Design Manager for console under Valorant gave players a hint to what they could expect. According to the job description, the Game Design Manager will lead a team to develop combat in Valorant on consoles, and tasked to anticipate players' needs on all relevant platforms. Although the job listing didn't reveal which platforms Valorant will be on, it did emphasize that the Game Design Manager was required to uphold the same design principles for the PC version and bring it to consoles.

Meanwhile, gamers expressed that they're willing to try Valorant once it comes out on consoles. Some are skeptical about it, bringing up the aim assist arguments among FPS players. While others don't believe that Valorant would thrive as a console game, citing Counter Strike: Global Offensive on the Xbox as an example.

Riot Games has become creative when it comes to making games for various platforms. Its other massive title, League of Legends, has an equally successful mobile version, League of Legends: Wild Rift. It also has multiple spin-off games, such as the turn-based RPG Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, a fighting game known as Project L, and an unnamed MMORPG. So, it's no surprise that Valorant would get the multi-platform treatment as well.

While there's no news yet on whether Valorant would be available for crossplay, players will not stop voicing out concerns about features like aim assist possibly creating an issue among players. This has been a discussion in gaming communities like Apex Legends and Overwatch. With a game like Valorant where mechanical skill is needed, it would be interesting to see how players would adapt to controller gameplay. At the same time, some Valorant fans are still waiting for a separate game exploring the lore, so developers might explore that too.

Valorant is available now for PC.
