Valorant Episode 2 has added plenty of new content to the game. As with any major content additions though, Valorant Episode 2 has been plagued by bugs and glitches. Lately, a new game-breaking glitch on Ascent is causing player's abilities to fall straight through the ground.

In the past, Riot has had to roll back patches that included a new Agent because of technical issues. It makes sense that the latest Agent addition, Yoru, has come to the game with a few issues thanks to his newness. His Gatecrash has caused players to take fall damage and die after emerging from the rip. While the issues with Yoru generally only affect the team when they are picked, another glitch can essentially make the game unplayable regardless of the player's choice of Agent.

This isn't the first time maps have been a controversial aspect of Valorant. Recently, OCE caster Crashmaaate originally found and posted a glitch where it seems Agent abilities fall through the Ascent map without their effect going off. The first time they noticed it was playing Phoenix on Ascent when the Agent's Hot-Hand ability fell through the floor. The first clip uploaded was a complete accident, but Crashmaate later went on to experiment with the glitch and other Agents in custom games. They were able to prove the glitch in the first clip wasn't a one-time problem and was actually a glitched spot in the ground on Ascent.

Crashmaaate then went on to list the other Agent abilities affected by this issue, namely: Killjoy's molly, Viper's molly and orb,  Sova's recon and shock dart, Cypher's cage, Raze's grenade and ult, Brimstone's molly, and possibly Yoru's abilities as well. This accounts for half the game's character roster, including the latest Agent addition to the game.

It looks like the glitch is just a single spot on Ascent. The real problem is that this hole is in a perfect strategic position to throw abilities to deter the enemy team. Throwing Agent abilities and grenades into that spot causes them to fall through the floor, making them useless. Until the spot has been fixed, players throwing abilities and grenades into the area will likely end up watching them disappear into the void under the map.

Riot has yet to respond to the glitch, though they are currently dealing with a lawsuit against cheat developers. It's likely this will be fixed or at least discussed soon, however, as this glitch on Ascent is one of an ever-growing list of bugs that have surfaced since the start of Episode 2. Players can hope for a quick response and competitive mode fixes coming in the near future.
