Following the end of Valorant's extremely popular beta test, Riot Games is getting ready for the official launch tomorrow. Thanks to testing done by the community over the past few months, a new patch is ready to be deployed with the worldwide release too. This update features several changes to five agents, the introduction of a new agent to the roster, and other additions players have been asking for

Out of the roster, agents set to receive a buff or nerf to their abilities are Sage, Raze, Jett, Phoenix, and Omen. Reyna, the new agent from Mexico, is also set to make her debut while bringing a unique feast-or-famine playstyle to matches. Finally, Ascent and Spike Rush are being added as a new map and game mode, respectively.

For buffs, Jett's Cloud Burst smoke will linger for 3 more seconds and her Tailwind can now break Cypher's Trapwire after a short delay. With these changes, Jett and her team can take greater advantage of her utility or unique ability to get the drop on opponents.

Furthermore, Phoenix is getting updates to all abilities. Although his skills have been toned down to match other DoT abilities in-game, the duration increase on Blaze and Curveball in addition to the weapon reload change while using his Run It Back ultimate will allow Phoenix to be a more effective agent overall.

Finally, Omen is also receiving quality of life changes to his entire kit. Most notably, being able to see an obscured location he will teleport to with Shrouded Step or cancel a bad From the Shadows ultimate means that Omen isn't instantly punished if an enemy knows where he'll go.

On the other hand, Sage's Healing Orb cooldown is going up by 10 seconds while her Barrier Orb has less health and lasts 10 seconds less. Even after past Valorant nerfs, Sage remains a go-to pick so these changes are aimed to cut down her healing and utility to more manageable levels. Likewise, Raze's Blast Pack maximum damage radius is being cut in half to bring the ability in line while retaining its knockback effect.

Last but not least, Ascent is a new map set in Venice, Italy. Ascent features a large, open space in the middle where players can duke it out and successfully holding this space will open more paths to the 2 Spike points. Spike Rush is also set to make its debut and the time in this game mode is estimated to be 8-12 minutes which is less than half of an average match currently.

In the end, all of these changes, additions, and bugfixes can be experienced by players when Valorant Episode 1: Ignition begins tomorrow.
