YouTube streamer Rachel "Valkyrae" Hoffstetter has been on a roll of late. Recently named the world's most-watched female streamer in the first quarter of 2021, Valkyrae's brand continues to grow impressively, especially considering she only started streaming in 2018. Some of this success can be attributed to having the right friends, and Valkyrae is besties with one of the biggest stars on Twitch, Pokimane. The two are so close that they've even been sharing a house for the last year with fellow streamers xChocoBars and Starsmitten. But now that the lease is up, it seems that Valkyrae is moving out.

It is not uncommon for social media stars to live together, as they often move to new places for business reasons, places where they might not know anyone else, so rooming with streamer friends is a good option. This is often more talked about in the realm of Tik Tok, as a group of content creators will move into the same house as a "Tik Tok Collective" to enhance brand identity. The Hype House is one such group that has done this. Twitch and YouTube streamers might be affiliated loosely if they live together, but that is not always the case.

While Valkyrae and Pokimane remain the best of friends, Valkyrae says the move has been brought on by a desire to "have full control over my environment" and to focus on her own plans. The freedom that comes with living alone being a draw for the 29-year-old YouTuber. Valkyrae also explains that the move has been brought on by some unfortunate stalkers who found out the address of the shared home, and for safety reasons, the girls are all looking at new living arrangements. An address in the hands of the wrong person can lead to incidents like swatting, which happened to Twitch streamer Nate Hill when he was playing Fortnite recently.

Valkyrae is making moves left and right, having just inked a co-ownership deal with 100 Thieves, the up-and-coming esports team and brand. Valkyrae had signed with 100 Thieves as a content creator in 2018, but the step up to ownership is particularly historic as she is the first woman of color to co-own an esports team. Coupling all this with a move to a new place, and maintaining a streaming schedule, Valkyrae is keeping busy in 2021.

Recently, Valkyrae has been seen over in Grand Theft Auto 5, on the NoPixel RP server, the talk of the streaming world right now. So many big names are taking part, it should be no surprise that the most-watched female streamer is also hopping in from time to time. While fans are likely a little sad that there might be less collaboration between Valkyrae and Pokimane going forward, the time is right for both to chart a new course.
