Survival viking title Valheim seems to currently be one of the hottest indie games to play in 2021. With over 5 million copies of Valheim sold on Steam, the majority of the players seem to like keeping themselves busy with the variety of activities offered in the game such as exploring, hunting, and building. One such player, who also seems to be a fan of Blizzard’s World of Warcraft, even recreated an iconic spot in one of the most populated cities in Alliance territory, Stormwind Harbor.

Valheim first launched into Steam’s Early Access in February 2021, and since then, avid players have taken the building aspect of the game to another level by imitating popular places from other video games. One fan even built Whiterun from Betheda’s own viking-esque game Skyrim, while another player built Sauron’s Tower from Lord of The Rings. With Valheim’s player base continuing to grow, it was only a matter of time before a WoW fan built an iconic location from the MMORPG.

On the Valheim Reddit forum, one user named ericxsg shared his recreation of World of Warcraft’s Stormwind Harbor, which is part of Stormwind City. One of the most popular Alliance cities in the MMORPG, Stormwind City has a rich history that many hardcore players will most likely be familiar with. Though recently, fans who are updated with content will recall the city playing host to the Horrific Vision of Stormwind feat of strength, which is a requirement to getting the game’s ‘Mad World’ achievement.

Though not one of the locations in the Horrific Vision of Stormwind feat of strength, it seems ericxsg still tried to faithfully imitate the city’s Stormwind Harbor. In the images they shared, the general location of the harbor sat close to the mountains, with the massive walls of the stone fortress overlooking the harbor. The fortress is connected to the port area with a series of stone stairs that lead to the large wooden are connected to the sea. And, several Valheim viking boats are seen anchored to the numerous docks, ready to ship out to sea at any moment.

Other Valheim and World of Warcraft fans on the Reddit thread complimented ericxsg and the work they shared on the forum. Some even stated that they immediately thought of Stormwind, even though they did not read the thread’s title. Others also asked ericxsg to continually update the forum about their progress on building the harbor. With so many fans encouraging others to create content within the game, it seems like Valheim will have a long life span, and may be one of the independent video games to beat in 2021.
