The world of Valheim is stunning in its own right, but players are able to shape it to their will with enough dedication. This level of unbridled creativity never fails to produce some amazing things, as talented gamers use the tools these games give them to create masterpieces. The latest work of this kind comes from Redditor Ravnuslock, who endeavored to build Diablo's iconic Old Tristram from scratch within the game. The end product is truly stunning, and it even comes with a download link for those that want to play on the map themselves.
Valheim is primarily a Viking-themed sandbox survival game, but fans like Ravnuslock use it as a way to express their creativity. Old Tristram on the other hand is the setting for the original Diablo game, but of course back then it was just called Tristram. To see these two dissimilar properties combined in a way that works so well is truly something special.
Anyone that played the original Diablo will likely recognize the layout of Ravnuslock's creation immediately. The fountain in the middle of town where players could speak with Deckard Cain to identify their items, the Blacksmith shop where players could buy and sell weapons, and the building where players would ask Pepin the priest for healing are all present. The amazing detail with which the town is recreated is astonishing, and the infamous Cathedral from which all hell literally broke loose looms over the town like a bad omen.
Needless to say, this type of project would have taken a long time, but it must have been a lot easier with the use of Valheim's debug mode. Debug mode acts as a sort of creative mode that allows players to fly around, spawn materials, and the like, but Ravnuslock shares some unfortunate news in the comments of their post. Apparently, they didn't know about debug mode until they were just finishing up the project, meaning they did the whole thing within the normal limits of the game. That means farming materials, building without flight, and dealing with the dangers of Valheim's world in the conventional way.
Fans wanting to download the world and try it for themselves can follow the link in Ravnuslock's Reddit post. Along with the file, there are also instructions on how to install. That said, they are in Portuguese, so those not fluent in the language may need to make use of Google translate in order to decipher the instructions.
