Iron Gate Studio released Valheim in early access last year, and it continues to update the PC game with enemies, crafting materials, weapons, armor, and more. One upcoming addition recently confirmed by Iron Gate Studio is a flashy new bow for archery enthusiasts to craft and hunt with.

March 10 is known to Nintendo fans as Mario Day, but Iron Gate Studio had news of its own to share on Twitter when it announced a bow that will be coming to the early access title. In what the developer called a "sneak peek" at a future Valheim update, a picture of the bow carried by a Viking was enclosed alongside a speed modeling video for the aforementioned bow. The clip first shows the bow from a side perspective, while the image of it being used in-game shows the weapon being tilted at a slight angle to show more detail.

Although a simple image of the upcoming Valheim weapon shows a bow that could be made of feathers or bone, the speed modeling video shared by Iron Gate Studio suggests it's the latter. The clip emphasizes the intricacies of creating a weapon model from scratch as it takes Valheim players through the process at a sped-up pace. The beginning of the video shows a pentagonal object being slowly warped and added to in order to create the bone aesthetic which gives Valheim fans an idea of how the various parts are pieced together to create the bow.

The video skips to show Valheim players a glimpse at a nearly complete version of the item which starts to resemble the finished project shown in the screenshot. The speed modeling clip of the new bow which will likely be an upgrade over the existing Valheim bows stops short of showing fans how it's colored, concluding the modeling process with a pale weapon next to its two-dimensional counterpart in a gridded 3D space. Going from the modeling software into the developer version of Valheim, the video ends showing the bow how players will likely see it when it is eventually patched in.

While Iron Gate Studio has shown off the new weapon coming to Valheim in the future, it hasn't suggested when it will be released to the public version of the game. Valheim is one of many Steam early access games to include a public test server which is where the bow will appear before the official client is updated to include it in the weapon rotation. The most recent content to come to the live version of Valheim from the public test realm is a location to explore called Frost Caves which come with crafting material that can be used to make new items.

Valheim is available now for PC.
