Valheim’s Hearth and Home update has officially arrived, and it has added several new items to Iron Gate Studio’s extremely-popular survival game. Among those additions is Thunder Stone, an item that can be used to craft a brand new tool called the Obliterator. As its name suggests, the Obliterator is used to destroy unwanted items in Valheim, and this guide is here to assist those players that are interested in building one for themselves.

How to Get Thunder Stone in Valheim

The first step toward creating an Obliterator is to obtain one Thunder Stone, which can be purchased from the Trader in Valheim for 50 Gold. As many readers will know, this NPC spawns within the Black Forest biome, and an icon that looks like a coin purse will appear on the minimap when he is nearby. While players are certainly free to wander around the Black Forest until they ultimately come across the Trader, there is a cheat that can be used to expedite things considerably.

More specifically, players can force the Trader to spawn by using console commands in Valheim. For those players that would like to pursue this option, here is a walkthrough of exactly how to make the Trader appear:

  • Press F5 to open the console window.
  • Input “iamacheater” (without quotes) into the console window.
  • Press F5 to reopen the console window.
  • Input “spawn Haldor” (without quotes) into the console window.

How to Craft the Obliterator in Valheim

After purchasing the Thunder Stone, players should confirm that they also have eight Iron and four Copper on hand. For full clarity, Iron in Valheim is smelted from Scrap Iron, which is most-easily mined from the Muddy Scrap Piles in the Swamp biome’s Sunken Crypt, and Copper is smelted from the Copper Ore that can be mined in the Black Forest biome. Once all of these materials have been obtained, fans should get in range of a Forge and pull out their hammers.

All that is left to do at this point is select the Crafting tab, pick the Obliterator, and set the construction down in a desirable location. From there, fans will be free to place items that they wish to get rid of inside of the Obliterator, and indeed the tool will take care of the rest. Undoubtedly, this is the best way to destroy items in Valheim, and players that are looking to clean up their inventories should not delay on creating this new tool.

Valheim is available now on PC via Steam Early Access.
