In Valheim, players must progress through its biomes and gather new resources in order to unlock better armor, weapons, and other crafting options. Along the way, players have to create different crafting stations in order to gain access to these new items in Valheim.

Similar to other advancements, the Spinning Wheel is locked behind an intense boss battle and requires some late-game materials to build. For those Valheim players looking to create the Spinning Wheel in-game and gain access to its many benefits, this guide can help.

How to Make a Spinning Wheel

The Spinning Wheel doesn't come into play until late in a playthrough in Valheim. This is because, in order to be crafted, players need to have built an Artisan Table first. These crafting stations require two Dragon Tears from Valheim boss Moder to be completed and this is the fourth major combatant in the game.

The Spinning Wheel is out of reach for any players who have yet to defeat any of Eikthyr, The Elder, Bonemass, or Moder. With the death of Moder, players gain access to Dragon Tears and can craft an Artisan Table and open up the option to crafting a Spinning Wheel.

The Spinning Wheel itself requires twenty Fine Wood, ten Iron Nails, and five Leather Scraps to be made and must be placed within the vicinity of an Artisan Table. Fine Wood can be obtained by chopping down either Birch or Oak trees while Iron Nails can be crafted at a Forge with a single Iron Ingot. Iron can be smelted from Iron Scrap which can be mined from Muddy Scrap Piles in the Sunken Crypts in Valheim's Swamp Biome. Leather Scraps are the easiest material on the list to gather and are dropped by the Boars in the Meadows Biome.

Spinning Wheel Uses in Valheim

The Spinning Wheel is an important structure for those looking to enhance their armor after their fight with Moder. The Spinning Wheel's only use is to convert Flax into Linen Thread, a vital ingredient for late-game armor and weapons. Players can acquire the Flax in the challenging Plains Biome in Valheim that grow near Fuling Villages. It can also be replanted at a player's base with a Cultivator but will only grow if planted in that same biome.

Once gathered, players can just approach the Spinning Wheel with their Flax and place up to 40 plants into it at a time. The resulting Linen Thread can be used to create Blackmetal weapons as well as the Padded armor, one of the better armor sets in Valheim.

Valheim is available now on PC.
