Over the course of the game in V Rising, players are naturally going to come across several hundred coins on their travels. At first, gamers may feel they should leave them behind since they do little except give the vampire a damage-over-time debuff. Some servers will disable waygate while such an item is in the inventory.

But throwing them on the ground is a mistake. It won't be relevant for a while, but players can eventually cash in these coins for various cosmetics and resources. It can be a way to bypass some tech tree requirements and get better potions early. However, to execute the maneuver, players will need to be very careful not to kill the merchant, or themselves, during the transaction.

Carrying Silver Coins

V Rising Making A Silver Resistance Potion

Silver coins can't be made, but they will drop off various slain enemies. To use these coins, the carrier cannot take any damage at all during the transaction. Therefore, a silver resistance potion will come in handy, especially for some of the meatier 300 coin purchases.

Capes will help too. And those who have gotten to the late game can get a buff from the Soul Shard of the Winged Horror structure for additional resistance. Lastly, make sure to do business during the nighttime because taking sun damage will ruin the process.

Dealing With A Merchant

V Rising Examining Grandma Form

Players will not be able to do legitimate business with any of the three merchants (Gavyn the Shady Dealer in Farbane Woods, Berk the Traveling Trader in Dunley Farmlands, or Ottar the Merchant in Silverlight Hills) until they have killed Beatrice the Tailor. She gives the ability for vampires to disguise themselves as humans.

Do not use any abilities or the Human Form power will disappear. Approach the merchant, interact with them, and purchase whatever wares are of interest. Merchants are tough to track. Unlike V Blood bosses, they don't appear to have a path they follow, rather, they spawn at various points and intersections randomly. Get too far away and they will despawn. Due to this, players looking for merchants will want to carry silver and potions on them at all times, taking advantage of these random appearances as they pop up.
