In V Rising, players assume the role of a vengeful vampire hell-bent on reclaiming back their lost territory from their human livestock. Still, in the players' lust for retribution and blood, they mustn't forget the mandatory sophistication involved in being a bloodsucking creature of the night. Fighting tooth and nail is too unrefined and best left for animals; vampire-kind are more civilized than that— they have weapons.

Then again, not all of these weapons are up to the task. Some are crude and no better than the tools their livestock use to fight back. One will have to rise to the challenge in V Rising and procure the top tools of the trade. These weapons will surely help trivialize even the toughest content available right now in the game so that players can shift their focus more on castle makeovers.

In fact, just about any Slasher will do as long as both skills are unlocked; the most important part of this weapon is the abilities. The first skill is called Elusive Strike which deals damage through a dash move. It practically allows players to both evade attacks and deal damage.

The second skill is called Camouflage and is basically an invisibility skill that lets you deal massively increased damage when striking while hidden. Both skills cater to the vampire playstyle and hit-and-run tactics. Camouflage can even be utilized to escape some sticky situations. In any case, don't go out without these bad boys.

The skills are pretty straightforward and are more focused on damaging enemies and buffing the player's attack speed. However, they're not ideal for taking on multiple enemies. They're best used against bosses.

For regular enemies or mobs, normal attacks with these axes will do as they hit multiple targets in an arc. The best part about preferring to use these weapons over others is that they also have great utility outside of combat. Axes are best for chopping down wood and players don't have to keep switching weapons if ever some uppity vampire livestock attacks them while logging.

They don't exactly look like much but the second one is perfect for those who rely too much on their spells. It just so happens that there are tons of awesome vampiric spells in V Rising. Max Combo Damage: 35%/35%/40%

Crafting Requirements:

  • 1 Dark Silver Sword
  • 4 Flawless Sapphire
  • 4 Primal Blood Essence
  • 12 Pristine Leather

Swords are one of the first weapons that players can use in V Rising. Players who have gotten used to them will be pleased that they carry over well to the late-game in PvE. The Sanguine Sword is great for its fast swings and increased damage compared to the cheaper tiers. What does make it viable in late-game PvE are the two vampire abilities.

The first skill is practically an area whirlwind attack that's all too common in a lot of video games these days. It also allows players to move though the duration of the spin is rather brief. Regardless, this Whirlwind skill is handy for finishing off multiple opponents. The second skill offers a great utility as it's a ranged attack that can also allow players to teleport to the location of the projectile.

1 Sanguine Spear

Max Combo Damage: 40%/40%/50%

Crafting Requirements:

  • 1 Dark Silver Spear
  • 4 Flawless Emerald
  • 4 Primal Blood Essence
  • 12 Pristine Leather

The spear can also be a good weapon in the right hands despite having limited area damage and a single-target focus. It's an awesome tool for taking down bosses and animal enemies. The first skill basically lets players perform a barrage of thrusts against a single target. The final strike will also knock them back. It's a bit clunky and players will have to ensure they're in the perfect range before committing.

The second skill is a lot more useful generally since it's essentially a spear throw. More than that, the skill, called Harpoon deals 70 percent increased damage and also pulls the target toward the players. At the very least, it's a handy hunting maneuver against running targets. This move is also the bane of ranged bosses or those hiding behind their minions.

V Rising is available in Early Access on PC.
