10 Journal: Introduction

This clue is one of the easiest one to find because Ashley will pick it up automatically during Chapter 8 in the old hotel. This journal will unlock five clues for you, but what most players don't realize is that in order to unlock the introduction you need to turn one page back when you first open the journal. So, make sure you leaf through the journal fully to unlock all of them, and it also doesn't hurt the actually read these clues, as they'll give you valuable information on what's actually going on in the mountains.

9 Broken Camera

During Chapter 5, Mike will find himself alone inside an abandoned sanatarium. There are tons of clues to be found around here, so make sure you take your time and check them all because they will help you comprehend the story of Until Dawn to a greater degree.

One of the more hidden clues is the Broken Camera, which you find early on in your exploration of the area. It'll be at the back of a room you go through, in which you'll also find a safe with some clocking-in cards.

8 Film Trophy

This clue can be found inside the mountain lodge. The convenient thing about it is that a number of people can find it across multiple chapters, so even if you miss it when you first enter the lodge as Chris, you can still come back and pick it up later. The clue is a small film trophy and is placed on top of a drawer on the upstairs walkway of the lodge. It can be easy to miss because the camera doesn't properly pan into this area and gives you a limited view, but just make sure to comb the area by the stairs carefully and you should find it.

7 Death Machine Plans

This clue is unique because it can only be collected if Sam manages to escape the masked man after her bath. If she does, she'll enter a basement area. As soon as you get here, make sure to turn back towards the door where you came from and continue past it until you reach a board on the wall with papers pinned to it. Underneath, Sam will discover the plans for a machine that supposedly killed Josh earlier. If you want to find this clue, make sure you nail the QTEs when playing on Sam.

6 Business Card

Not in a difficult location but easy to miss, this business card of a meat processing company can be found across multiple chapters inside the mountain lodge. Head over to the entrance of the lodge, right next to the door where a coffee table of sorts should be located.

The business card is right next to it and will reveal to you that someone ordered a bunch of meat processing tools like saws and blades to the lodge. It's a creepy detail which will make a lot of sense later on as the truth unveils.

5 Native American Letter

During Chapter 3 you will be playing as Chris again and will be walking around the mountain lodge. At one point, a door will open on its own, and you should head inside against your better instinct. You'll see another door further up, but, instead of reaching it, you should turn to your left, and you'll find a small desk with a note on top of it. The letter is from Hannah's and Beth's mother to the local ethnicity department. It's clear there's some involvement with the local Native American tribe.

4 Answerphone Message

The good thing about this clue is that it can be found across multiple chapters inside the mountain lodge. Once you're on the first floor of the house, head over to the dining room. You should find the phone to your right side, and after pressing the button you'll hear a worrying message warning about a mysterious convicted man on the loose. While the message might sound real enough, it turns out it's actually just Josh pretending to be the local sheriff, warning Melinda Washington.

3 Miner's Family Photo

In Chapter 7, you'll take control of Emily as you explore the old mines on the mountain. After you've turned on your phone's flashlight, you'll enter a large cave area. Don't proceed forward yet, but turn right instead where a small alcove of sorts is located. There, on top of a barrel, you'll find a metal box with a photo of a man with his family. The man is actually one of the miners that arrived back in the 1950s to come and work on the mountains but instead met an untimely death.

2 Mine Rescue Photo

During Mike's lengthy exploration of the Sanatorium in Chapter 5, you'll get to visit the chapel, after which you'll come across a set of stairs by large windows leading downstairs. Don't take the stairs just yet. Instead, walk towards the back wall by the windows, and you'll notice an object glowing on the floor. It's an old picture frame depicting The Miracle Men, the twelve miners that were rescued after being trapped in the mines. Little does Mike know that there were originally thirty of these men.

1 Clocking-In Cards

When you first arrive at the sanatarium as Mike in Chapter 5, and you enter a room with a broken partition, walk to Mike's left and the camera will switch angles. You'll notice a sturdy safe against the wall, which you can crank open. Inside, you'll find the thirty clocking-in cards of the miners that worked on the mountains. Remember that rescue photo we mentioned earlier? This clue proves that there were more people trapped than rescued.
