Unravel 2, also known as Unravel TWO, appears to have been leaked ahead of a likely announcement during Electronic Arts' upcoming E3 press conference. A rating was published this morning on the ESRB, the United States video game rating board, website. Unravel 2's title, its supported platforms, and a short description are revealed, showing how the sequel plans to double the Yarny fun of the original.

According to the leaked ESRB rating, Unravel 2 won't divert too far from the path of the original game. Players will once again be placed in control of Yarny as the little yarn person slowly unravels themself to travel further and further on a side-scrolling journey. Only in Unravel 2, players will also be controlling a second yarn person, also apparently known as Yarny. It's a delightful Yarnies duet.

The ESRB rating falls unfortunately short in describing any new features that may or may not be included in Unravel 2. That means it's unknown as to whether the two-character game will require multiple players to complete or if it's entirely a single-player controlling two character, much like in Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. One thing is clear though, a second leak shows that the new Yarny will be blue.

unravel 2 leaks ahead of ea e3 press conference

The reveal of a brand new Unravel game isn't wholly surprising. Electronic Arts accidentally let slip in 2016 that it would be continuing its support of Unravel developer Coldwood Studios as it worked on its next game, the next Unravel. It's safe to assume that the buzz surrounding the original Unravel's announcement and launch led directly into the greenlight for an Unravel sequel.

An official announcement for Unravel 2 is almost guaranteed to be made during the EA Play E3 press conference later this Saturday. More than that, given the suddenness of the ESRB's rating for Unravel  2, it would not be surprising if Unravel 2's release date was quite soon. It may even be launched as quickly as after the press conference. It'd be the perfect game to wind down after the first event of E3.

Unravel 2 has no confirmed release date but is planned for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
