In the new puzzle game Unpacking, players have to unpack and put away all of the narrator's items every time she moves to a new place. Unpacking revolves around recognizing and properly placing these items in each new home, but that can be more difficult for some players based solely on their age.

In Unpacking, players help this unnamed woman move into her first unshared bedroom, into her university dorm, and more. But there are some items that can be more difficult to place for some players. This includes recognizing and putting away things like feminine hygiene products, trying to find where to put the couple's photo in Unpacking's 2012 chapter, and even several chapters that require players to put away consoles they may be too young to recognize.

In a tweet, indie game developer Sanatana Mishra of WitchBeam Games shared a couple of screenshots of younger Unpacking players asking for help identifying a GameCube console. In chapter 2007, players will have to unpack a GameCube, its games, and the controllers in order to complete the level, and some players could not figure out just what the weird square item with buttons on it could be. The Tweet mentions that this is like one of those "memes about things that make you feel old and decrepit."

The screenshots show that the GameCube, which was one of the most uniquely-shaped consoles ever made, isn't as recognizable to some gamers as it is to others. While distinctive in shape and look to anyone who played video games around 2003 when the GameCube launched, younger players or those who never owned one may not be able to tell what it is immediately. In later chapters, players will also have to find a place for a Nintendo Wii-style console, but this may also be a little easier for most to recognize since it came out much more recently in 2012.

Since Unpacking was released on Xbox Game Pass as well as Switch and PC, it's no surprise that players of all ages and from all walks of life are currently playing this game. But for some players, watching others struggle to properly identify and place a GameCube is certainly one of those "I'm Old Now" moments. There are more than likely a large number of teenage players who weren't even born when this console was released, making it a built-in meme about all of the older gamers.

Unpacking is available for PC, Switch, and Xbox.
