There's loads of stuff to unlock in the new remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2. Players can complete challenges to unlock skins like the Roswell Alien Skater in Tony Hawk, a Jack Black skin, and even cheat codes and mods.

Cheat Codes and Mods

Although there are a couple of mods and cheats available when players first boot up the game, some of the funnier ones are locked behind completing certain parts of the game. This includes a mod to make the player very tiny, one to make them huge, and even a cheat to give the player nearly unlimited money. The access to cheats and mods feels like it's the 1990's all over, when Tony Hawk's Pro Skater first launched. For many, the first two games are still the best Tony Hawk games in the series.

How to Unlock Cheats and Mods

Some cheats are available when the player first turns on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remaster. These are now called "Assists" and can be found in the main menu of the game. The Options menu is where these Assists are located. Players have access to Perfect Rail Balance, Perfect Manual Balance, Perfect Lip Balance, Always Special, and No Bails. But others, like the ability to make Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Remake more difficult, will still be locked behind some story modes.

After players finish the story modes for both the first and second games, however, a whole new collection of mods and cheats will become available to them. Hopefully, all these mods and cheats will also be available in the rumored Switch port of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remake. These include graphics filters that can invert colors, make everything black and white, or even make it look like players are using an old, OG Game Boy to play.

Players can also now adjust stats (Normal, Expert, and Super), double their base scores, unlock additional skins like the Jack Black Officer Dick and the alien, and more. While the updated Tony Hawk has kept the feel of the originals alive, there have been some changes to the game and the cheat system.

The old codes that players would use on their PS1 no longer work in the game. When input, they do exactly nothing, which is kind of disappointing to those who dumped hundreds of hours into the original. At least Tony Hawk Pro Skater Remake didn't completely remove the cheats and mods for those nostalgic for the funnier ones.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 Remake is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
