The day many fans have been waiting for is finally here as Activision and Infinity Ward finally launched the first season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Yesterday's trailer gave fans a sneak peek at what today's content infusion is bringing to the table including brand new maps like Crash, Vacant, and Shipment.

The largest free content drop in the history of the franchise also reintroduces the Battle Pass system into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Without a supply drop system in place, the Battle Pass gives players a clear indicator of what they're earning and when. While the system has plenty of cosmetics, character skins, boosters, and CoD Points, players also have new weapons that can be unlocked.

Here's everything players need to know in order to unlock the HOLGER-26 and Ram-7.

call of duty season one roadmap

Holger-26

The first of two new weapons is the Holger-26, a Light Machine gun variant of the Holger model rifle. It comes with an integrated sight rail and a drum magazine for additional ammunition carrying capacity.

In order to unlock this weapon for use, players will need to advance to tier 15 of the free Battle Pass.

Ram-7

The other free weapon that can be unlocked in Season 1 is the Ram-7 assault rifle. Infinity Ward describes this weapon as a fully automatic bullpup style weapon that comes with picatinny rails at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. For those not familiar with military jargon, this is simply a feature of the gun that allows three attachments to be mounted to it to the left side, right side, and under barrel.

In order to unlock this weapon for use, players will need to advance to tier 31 of the free Battle Pass.

Once unlocked, players can customize and level them up just as the other standard weapons in the game. In addition to new maps to play on across all multiplayer modes, season 1 has also brought back Infected, a game mode which longtime Call of Duty fans should be familiar with. Each match starts out with one player trying to infect other players, while the survivors attempt to stay alive until the end of the match. As Activision's post-launch roadmap indicates, Infected is just the beginning for new game modes during season 1.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with Season 1 arriving on December 3rd.
