Those who are excited about the Uncharted film got a bit of an early Christmas present on Thursday. A brand new trailer for the upcoming Tom Holland film just dropped, showing off quite a bit of what theatergoers can expect when they go see it in February.

Holland stars as well-known and well-loved Uncharted protagonist Nathan Drake, though he's a bit younger than the version who has appeared in the most recent games. Appearing alongside the Spider-Man: No Way Home star is Mark Wahlberg, who will be playing Victor "Sully" Sullivan. Together they'll be going up against Antonio Banderas playing a still-unnamed baddie, and it looks like everyone is going to be chasing after a pretty massive treasure that got itself stranded on the bottom of the ocean a couple of hundred years ago.

The new trailer shows how the two Uncharted protagonists first come together for this particular mission, though it doesn't appear to be the first time they've met each other. It also shows off the comedic chops of both actors, who trade barbs with each other with a couple of age jokes. Sully says that Nathan is a bit too young to be tending bar and Nathan fires back that Sully is a bit too old to be attending a prom.

The age difference between the two is hinted at several other times throughout the trailer, culminating in a joke about Sully's suddenly new mustache. That particular appearance (as he's not sporting it for most of the video) appears to be a direct nod to the Uncharted video game character and the look gamers know him with best. Fans who were disappointed by Sully's missing mustache will likely be thrilled by the joke.

Jokes aside, there's plenty of action shown off in the new trailer, including Holland showing off some moves that look like they came directly out of his Spider-Man days. The big difference here, of course, is that Nathan Drake possesses no special powers to aid him as he jumps from one giant light fixture to another.

The new trailer gives potential Uncharted audiences their best look yet at just what they can expect from Nathan and Sully as they embark on a mission to dig up a treasure that's rumored to be worth billions of dollars. It looks as though this movie is going to be borrowing a few plot devices from films like National Treasure, with puzzles on top of puzzles needing to be solved in order to find the next clue and unlock the location of their next quarry. Fans won't have to wait much longer to see how all of this unfolds.

Uncharted is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 18, 2022.
