Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland jokes that he would only tease Mark Wahlberg on the set of Uncharted while security was present - just to be safe. In the adaptation based off of the popular video game series of the same title, Holland takes on the role of Nathan Drake, an impulsive treasure hunter. Mark Wahlberg plays Drake's mentor in the film, Victor “Sully” Sullivan.

In Uncharted, Wahlberg's character finds himself teaming up with the young Drake on a quest to find the lost treasure of the famous Magellan expedition. Ruben Fleischer (Venom) directed the adventure film. Uncharted also stars Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, and Antonio Banderas. Uncharted surpassed previous box office expectations and has steadily been receiving buzz from both critics and fans alike.

Holland recently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he joked about Wahlberg being far too old to play Drake when Uncharted finally made it into production. With all that being said, dad jokes and all, Holland still made it clear that he’s a bit intimidated by Wahlberg. Holland shared that he wouldn’t dare tease Wahlberg on set unless he knew security was close by. He stated, “You can tease Mark Wahlberg, but he’s also quite a scary guy. So, like, I have a security guy (Jack), who’s one of my best mates, but I only tease Mark when Jack’s around.”

Uncharted had been in development for a long time now, and while it’s been collecting dust, Holland teases so has Wahlberg. Wahlberg originally was set to play Holland's role of the young Drake but ended up having to portray the role as mentor instead - hence the old-man jokes. All kidding aside, it’s a very real possibility that Wahlberg's high intimidation factor has in fact affected Holland, who is much more shy and reserved in nature.

Either way, Holland is most definitely not too afraid to poke fun at Wahlberg, especially if he’s doing it on late night television. The two stars' chemistry in the film must be on point, given the box office numbers steadily trickling in. Sony is quite excited, as this may lead to the possibility of further expanding the Uncharted franchise.

Uncharted is now showing in theaters.
