It was almost a year ago that the PS4-exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End blew away already lofty expectations, and fans have been eager for more from the award-winning franchise. Naughty Dog is currently working towards delivering a story-based expansion called Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, based around the characters of Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, both of which will be intimately familiar to veterans of the series. As of this weekend, three new images starring the aforementioned characters have now been released for the upcoming downloadable content.

Yesterday, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy's Creative Director Shaun Escayg tweeted out a brand new screenshot and two new pieces of character art for the game, while also linking to the profiles of the character's respective voice actors. While Chloe Frazer (Claudia Black) and Nadine Ross (Laura Bailey) are known elements in the Uncharted universe, Asav (Usman Ally) represents a brand new threat to be dealt with.

The Lost Legacy will take place after the events of A Thief's End conclude, and will focus on Chloe's battle to ensure an ancient Indian artifact doesn't fall into the hands of the war profiteer Asav. To help make certain this doesn't happen, Chloe enlists the help of mercenary leader Nadine Ross, who gamers will remember as being one of the main antagonists from the fourth iteration of the series. The content was only recently announced at the PlayStation Experience via an eight minute video, though most of the mysteries of the title have been kept under wraps for the time being.

It seems like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will be the swan song of the Uncharted franchise as a whole, so fans will be expecting a satisfying ending as Naughty Dog prepares to shift its focus onto both The Last Of Us 2 and future intellectual properties.

What do you think about the series' supposed last stand, Ranters? Are you excited for The Lost Legacy?

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is currently in development exclusively for PlayStation 4, and has no current release date.
