Even a year after release, Naughty Dog continues to update and make improvements to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. In sticking with the established post-launch schedule, the multiplayer portion of the experience has already received a ton of new content including new maps, modes, and a wealth of cosmetic items. With this most recent patch, a major issue surrounding the latest competitive season is finally getting addressed.

While season 5 of Uncharted 4 multiplayer kicked off on April 3, an issue prevented some player progress from the previous season from resetting. In an effort to create a fair and even playing field, Naughty Dog has decided to completely reset the season, marking a clean start for everyone. While all progression in season 5 now starts from scratch, the good news for players who have already put a lot of time into Season 5 is that any rewards obtained to this point will be retained.

A few additional reward adjustments are being made, letting every player have an opportunity to obtain Ranked Season 5 Cowboy Hats and the Ranked Cabbage Patch taunt granted at season-end. Players that are able to reach Gold III rank or higher by the time the season ends will earn both the Season 5 Ranked Cabbage Patch taunt AND the Season 6 Ranked Walk It taunt. Finally, bonus relics will be issued out at the end of Ranked Season 6 as well.

In addition to the major progression fix, update 1.23.070 has also added a new death region to the Village map in an effort to prevent players from using a particular exploit. Drake's Aegis 9mm pistol has also had its LP cost increased to 3.

As the multiplayer scene in Uncharted 4 continues to rage on, the development team remains hard at work on the former single player campaign which has since evolved into a stand alone expansion. Just last week, fans finally got the news they'd been waiting for as Naughty Dog revealed the expansion will be launching on August 22, 2017 at a retail price of $40. To celebrate the news, a new cinematic trailer was also released showing protagonists Chloe Frazier and Nadine Ross discussing a mysterious mechanical device and how it fits into the larger plot surrounding the Tusk of Ganesh.
