As we approach the final quarter of 2011, we must prepare for the busiest time of the year for video game releases. While 2011 has a been a very good year for PlayStation 3 exclusives, the biggest one yet is still two months away: Naughty Dog's Uncharted 3. Bringing back Nathan Drake and friends, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception continues the international adventure and comes packed with a revamped multiplayer component.

In anticipation of this important release, Sony has unveiled the PlayStation 3 Uncharted 3 bundle which comes with... wait for it... a PS3 and the game. That's it.

With the PlayStation 3 price drop to $249.99 (a ridiculously good deal), the Uncharted 3 bundle comes in at $300, the extra $50 going towards the game and the 320gb hard-drive.

The console itself comes with no collector's or exclusive items, but it does come in the sweet color design of default black. This is a wasted opportunity and it's confusing to see Sony continuing to ignore the potential of unique and colored systems. We just saw Japan get blue and red PS3s and on the Xbox 360 side, Gears of War 3 has a neat bundle with a themed Xbox 360 console, a pair of colored controllers and a copy of that game. Why is there nothing comparable for the Sony faithful?

If you don't have a PS3 but want to jump in with the third installment in one of their best exclusive franchises, this Uncharted 3 bundle may be for you.

The bundle also comes with a month of PlayStation Plus.

There is actually an Uncharted 3 themed controller but as always, it is only slated for release in Japan at the moment. For all of you with a default black-colored PS3, check out the Uncharted 3 Collector's Edition as Nathan Drake voice actor Nolan North unboxes it himself.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception releases November 1, 2011 for the PS3.
