Uncharted 2: Among Thieves launched all the way back in 2009 on the PS3, over 10 years ago, and so it's safe to say that some may be confused why the game is currently trending on Twitter, with nearly 2,000 tweets about it and counting.

Uncharted 2 is trending on Twitter because the official PlayStation account asked its followers what they think is the most impressive video game sequel. This question prompted a number of replies, but it seems many agree that Uncharted 2 is arguably the most impressive video game sequel. Other popular answers to PlayStation's question include God of War 2Batman: Arkham City, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Other Twitter users instead said that the most impressive video game sequel isn't out yet because it's The Last of Us 2.

While Uncharted 2 initially started trending because of PlayStation's question, fans are now using the trend to share their favorite moments and screenshots of the game. Even though Uncharted 2 launched over a decade ago, it seems that the game is still held in very high regard by fans, which should come as no surprise considering it's one of the highest-rated video games ever produced to date.

Anyone feeling nostalgic about Uncharted 2 can replay it without digging out their old PS3 consoles. Uncharted 2 is available to play on PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Now streaming service, plus players can get it as part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Furthermore, there have been a couple of recent opportunities that allowed PS4 users to get Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and therefore Uncharted 2, for free.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection was one of the free PS Plus games earlier this year, and Sony also made it free as part of its Play at Home Initiative. Sony's Play at Home Initiative gave away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection as well as Journey, two critically-acclaimed PS4 titles, to keep people entertained while they're stuck at home during the coronavirus pandemic. The promotion is over, but it stands to reason that many PS4 users took advantage of the opportunity and added Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection to their digital library.

It will be interesting to see if Naughty Dog will make another Uncharted game for PS5, or if the studio will focus on something else instead after it finishes development on The Last of Us 2. For now, Uncharted fans can revisit the first four games in the series on PS4.
