We can’t tell you how excited we are to be the ones that get to break this mega-ton fighting game announcement to all our arcade stick wielding Korrupt Kombatants out there. This is our first major scoop, and we think it’s a doozie. Pictured a mere 178 words past this one (trust me; I counted) is the reveal of the first screenshot for what Capcom has planned after Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Capcom Vs. Puzzle Pieces is sure to be yet another in the long line of successful Capcom franchise crossovers.
An anonymous source from deep within Capcom’s secret game brewery (yeah, weird; that’s what they call them in Japan) said the inspiration behind the game was simple. Citing that since “people love fighting games” and “people love puzzle games,” why not merge the two into a “hardcore vs. casual gaming beat-down stew.” In addition to the lethal moves that will be put on display by everyone’s favorite Tetris Block, fans can look forward to working their fast finger skills with iconic characters that include Meteos Cube, Lumines Square and Sudoku Grid. And of course, there will be plenty of DLC characters for players to check out later, not to mention the inevitable retail-disc updated bargain-price version of the game that will be released a mere couple months after this one.
Who’s excited? I know I am. Until CvPP (that’s how cool kids type it) hits store shelves, we’ll just have to polish up our skills with Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.
