Back in 2011, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was a huge hit for not only Marvel and Capcom but fighting game fans as well. It takes the iconic heroes and villains from both companies and pits them against each other in team-based 3-on-3 battles. Even over a decade after its initial release, this game is still looked upon quite fondly by the competitive fighting game community, even being represented at tournament events like EVO.

Alongside this competitive scene, it also has a very active modding scene, especially when the game was ported to PC in 2017. Modders have recently been able to break through the built-in limitations of the game, which have resulted in some incredible custom character mods. Most notably, the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 palette swap mod, created by tabs. It added 19 different custom skins that acted as their own playable characters, such as Thanos and Cyclops from previous Marvel vs. Capcom games and entirely brand-new characters like Rashid from Street Fighter 5.

One of the latest updates to the mod adds in another Street Fighter character, Cammy. In her home franchise, Cammy specializes in lightning-fast attacks that can overwhelm her opponent. Notably, she doesn't have any projectile moves, relying on her priority moves and range instead. This fighting style is reflected in the mod as well, being incredibly fast and having high combo potential.

This Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 mod surprisingly places Cammy over Firebrand, a completely different character that is very unlike the humanoid street fighter. Despite the odd placement, Cammy plays like how one would expect she would when translated into the gameplay style of Ulitmate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This includes a custom model that depicts her in her iconic "Killer Bee" outfit, as well as animations and special moves. This includes some of her iconic special moves, such as her Spiral Arrow. Her Level 3 Hyper Combo is the Killer Bee Assault, which takes a bit of inspiration from Spider-Man's Maximum Spider move in terms of presentation.

The update also added another Capcom character to the game, HUNK from the Resident Evil series. Much like other characters that have originated from the Resident Evil series, he utilizes a number of heavy arms weaponry, alongside a melee knife weapon. Fans can download and try out these mods through Nexusmods, as the previous links to GameBanana have been deleted.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
