Back in the old days before DLC was even a thought in anyone's mind, it common for fighting games to get updated versions - released some time after the original came out. Whether to include new characters, update the gameplay, add a new mode, etc. updates came to be expected in the fighting genre.

Naturally, Capcom is still infamous for multiple updates - turning what was originally planned as a DLC update into a new retail build - but that doesn't mean we're not looking forward to Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. Two more characters, Marvel's Dr. Strange and Capcom's Nemesis, were revealed at Gamescom 2011 adding to the even-more-extensive roster - with new gameplay videos to accompany them.

Doctor Stephen Strange was a brilliant surgeon who was responsible for saving many lives, but grew far too arrogant - and only helped the highest-paying victims. Then a car accident injured his hands, thereby making him useless in his profession. He sought a new path in life, and eventually found The Ancient One and became a pupil in the art of magic. He was eventually dubbed the Sorcerer Supreme, and became a main hero in the Marvel universe.

Nemesis is an enhanced version of the Tyrant monster first created by Albert Wesker in the original Resident Evil. It appeared in Resident Evil 3, and served as the biggest threat Jill Valentine had to face while trying to escape Raccoon City.

Nemesis proved to be an utterly invincible creature that simply would not stop until its target had been eliminated, and escaping the monster's wrath, as well as hoping to fight another day, became a priority if you were unfortunate enough to run into him.

Dr. Strange certainly looks like a tricky character to use. He seems to be a primarily long-distance fighter, relying on projectiles and such. One of his attacks involves setting up reflectors in the air - which his projectiles bounce off of (requiring quite a bit of skill to get right). In the proper hands, however, he could  be a deadly fighter. Nemesis, on the other hand, is just pure brute force. Slow-moving, yet destructive - once he gets close enough. Likely not as complex as Dr. Strange, but no less a threat.

Strange and Nemesis join the other four characters revealed for Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 in Strider Hiryu, Firebrand, Hawkeye, and Ghost Rider. With half of the promised cast shown already, who will be next to appear? Will we finally see Frank West in action? Or Phoenix Wright? Will we actually want Rocket Raccoon as part of the game?

Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 comes out this November for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
