Although many likely wouldn't expect it, there's been a lot of crossover between the UFC and the world of gaming in the last few years. Of course, the mixed martial arts promotion has led to numerous video game tie-ins, however, fighters like Ronda Rousey and Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson have streamed on Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and other platforms.

It seems one of the promotion's recent bouts revealed an interesting tidbit about a Canadian fighter called KB Bhullar, with the Middleweight UFC combatant revealing in a pre-fight interview that he was an avid Pokemon fan. Better yet, he told reporters that he actually had a pretty firm goal within the game following his fight on October 10 with Tom Breese.

According to the fighter, moments before his interview with a room full of reporters, he was "sat on a unicorn floaty playing [his] Nintendo Switch in the pool." When asked what he was playing, Bhullaar admitted that he was making his way through Pokemon Shield and was actually attempting to complete his goal of "finishing the Pokedex." He, of course, stresses to the reporters that "it's a big thing. It's a big goal of mine. If there was a goal of mine this trip, it's that." Following the amusing statement, a reporter asks which of Bhullar's goals is more important, defeating Breese or finally hitting that 100% on Pokemon Shield.

The combatant admits that his number one priority is to "win at all costs," but completing the Pokedex is a pretty solid runner up. Unfortunately, KB Bhullar couldn't quite secure himself the victory when he stepped into the octagon against Breese last Saturday, with the British fighter managing to land a solid jab to knock Bhullar down before finishing him off with some brutal hammerfists in the first round. Regardless of the outcome of his recent bout, it seems Bhullar can now refocus on his goal of conquering the Pokedex and becoming the greatest trainer in the Galar region.

Things might become slightly more difficult for Bhullar in the coming weeks, however, with Nintendo set to debut its second expansion, Crown Tundra, on October 22. Much like the Isle of Armor expansion, it'll feature tons of returning Pokemon and a new area to explore, making for a solid slice of new Pokemon content. It'll be interesting to see whether the game look to solve the community's issues with the national dex, with a number of Pokemon fans angry that Nintendo took away some of the franchise's most notable names in Sword and Shield. It seems all will be revealed in a few weeks' time.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are out now on Nintendo Switch.
