The Second Ubisoft Forward took place earlier today showcasing some familiar games, announcing new ones, and unleashing some welcome surprises the company has been secretly working on for both current and next gen consoles.
The event was the second digital presentation the company has released in 2020, having to change plans from the usual yearly E3 conference held in June due to the cancellation of the mega game convention earlier in the year.
Here's everything that was announced by Ubisoft at the second Ubisoft Forward event.
Watch Dogs Legion
With Watch Dogs: Legion's launch date approaching on October 29 for PC, PS4, Stadia and Xbox One, Ubisoft showcased new footage of the game at the event. Watch Dogs: Legion's new trailer showcased the recruitment process for the player to recruit characters of all sorts in the game. Players will be able to see stats on possible recruits by hacking online profiles. Along with gameplay stats, characters will also have unique abilities such as hacking vehicles, phones, and computers. Watch Dogs Legion is also planned to release on the Xbox Series X on November 10 with a PS5 date currently unknown.
Rainbow Six: Siege
In an announcement that Ubisoft touted "was for the fans," Rainbow Six: Siege will be the focus of a massive World Cup tournament starting in the summer of 2021. The tournament will have 45 national teams that will compete in smaller events, and eventually, the 20 best teams will compete for the World Cup in a major tournament. Currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Rainbow Six Siege is also headed to the Xbox Series X and PS5 in the near future.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising
After already announcing a name change, Ubisoft released a new trailer and gameplay of the upcoming open world adventure game. Immortals: Fenyx Rising mixes the breadth and gear of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey with the wonder of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In addition, Ubisoft announced a partnership with Google bringing an exclusive demo of the game to the streaming platform. Immortals Fenyx Rising will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on December 3.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game Complete Edition
The game, based on the movie based on the graphic novel finally returns after months of teasing by Ubisoft, movie director Edgar Wright, and developers within the company. Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game Complete Edition is a co-op beat'em up that grew in popularity on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game was taken down from both digital storefronts due to the licensing for the game expiring, but Ubisoft has managed to renew it and bring the cult hit back. Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game Complete Edition returns for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One including all DLC made for the game when it releases.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake
After months of leaks and rumors, Ubisoft finally confirmed that a reboot of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is in development by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai. The remake will modernize the 2003 classic game with a significant visual upgrade and redone cutscenes. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake puts players in the role of the Prince as he tries to save his kingdom from being taken over by an evil Vizier. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time launches January 21, 2021 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The Second digital event was indeed a doozy with several games announced to launch before the end of the year, but Ubisoft isn't done. A third Ubisoft Forward was announced to happen later this year, though no date is currently set.
