This year's TwitchCon North America event is slated to return to the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California from September 27–September 29, 2019. TwitchCon 2019 will be the fifth year of the event and the second year that it will be held in San Diego, with the first time being in 2016.

The streaming platform is promising that TwitchCon will be "everything you love about Twitch crammed into one ridiculously awesome weekend." In years past, that has meant the chance to play games at the convention, esports competitions, Meet and Greets with streamers, meetups for different gaming and streamer communities, and panels where all things streaming are discussed. Of course, being Twitch's official event, TwithCon pulls many of the streamers people know together in one place, whether or not they are featured in any of these panels or Meet and Greets.

Twitch says that tickets will go on sale this summer, and the company is already offering discounted room rates in San Diego for those who are looking to book early. Those interested in TwitchCon can find out more at the official TwitchCon website, and sign up for updates about the event as well as an alert when tickets go on sale later this year.

Last time TwitchCon was held in San Diego in 2016, more than 35,000 people attended the three-day event with some extra festivities being hosted in the vicinity of the convention center, including Petco Park. TwitchCon also serves as the perfect time to make big announcements concerning the streaming service; and in 2016, that included the announcement of Twitch Prime, VOD uploads, and chat badges.

While the San Diego Convention Center (which is perhaps most well known for hosting San Diego Comic-Con every July) is the location of TwitchCon in North America in 2019, this year also includes the very first TwitchCon Europe. That inaugural event will be held this April in Berlin, Germany.
