Felix "xQc" Lengyel is currently the most watched streamer on Twitch and in light of a new policy increasing the number of ads on the platform he has told his significant viewer base to not subscribe to his channel. Fans reported seeing 15 unskippable ads in a row, prompting the 26-year-old streamer to tell his viewers to sign up for Twitch Turbo. Users that have signed up with Twitch Turbo can enjoy ad-free viewing across the entire platform.

Twitch has offered Twitch Turbo as an option for viewers since 2013 though users that subscribed to a streamer would have ad-free viewing on that channel with or without Twitch Turbo. Recent changes to Twitch's monetization policies included incentives for streamers to broadcast more ads with lucrative ad incentives. Hopping from channel to channel can now result in over 2 minutes of ads before streams will be available for viewing.

After returning from his TwitchCon-related break due to illness, xQc stated that he does not care about his subscriber count and would rather his viewers subscribe to Twitch Turbo to have an ad-free viewing experience. According to xQc, "for the price of two subs, you have a sub on every channel across the platform." With the largest audience on Twitch at the moment, xQc's endorsement of Twitch Turbo is likely to lead to more users signing up for the long-running service.

A Twitch Turbo subscription costs $8.99, but there are no regional pricing adjustments for users. Everyone pays the same price, which means that for certain viewers worldwide, a Twitch Turbo subscription is more expensive than one or two regular subscriptions. In addition to ad-free viewing, Twitch Turbo subscribers will also receive an exclusive chat badge, an expanded emote set, and custom chat username colors, and for those that also broadcast the storage time is increased from 14 days to 60.

Twitch streamer xQc previously advocated for Twitch Turbo to his viewers back in April, though that was before the ad incentive program was negatively impacting the viewer experience. This is not the first time xQc has expressed concern about his viewers or the overall Twitch community. Recently xQc worked with other streamers, such as Ludwig, to help pay back users scammed by a gambling Twitch stream.
