The controversy following an incident during a Twitch Rivals Fall Guys tournament continues days after the event ended. The source of the controversy stems from Twitch streamer xQc stream sniping during the tournament, ultimately resulting in his suspension from the platform.

Now, the official Twitch Rivals Twitter account has made a statement regarding more suspensions for streamers who engaged in stream sniping during the event. Twitch streamers Nightblue3, Mendo, GrandPooBear, and Tfue all apparently violated Twitch Rival’s conduct rules, resulting in disciplinary action.

This statement comes just one day after the announcement that xQc had been suspended from Twitch for violating the rules laid out for the Twitch Rivals event. Twitch Rival’s statement on the matter gives a full summary and explanation of why these four streamers are facing consequences following the Twitch Rivals event. Apparently, streamers Nightblue3, Mendo, and GrandPooBear engaged in some form of stream sniping or violation of the rules set in place for the event. Tfue, however, only knew that members of his team were stream sniping and neglected to inform any moderators of the fact.

As such, Nightblue3, Mendo, and GrandPooBear will receive the same punishment that xQc received for stream sniping. This means that each streamer will be banned from entering any Twitch Rivals events for six months, must forfeit any winnings from the tournament, and their Twitch accounts are suspended for a period of time. On the other hand, Tfue only has to forfeit his winnings from the event and will not be banned from entering events or have his account suspended. Needless to say, it’s clear that Twitch is taking these violations of its guidelines very seriously.

Twitch and the streamers who make content for the platform have had quite a tumultuous several months. Twitch streamers have received copyright strikes en masse, resulting in the loss of years’ worth of clips and VODs. Additionally, streamers have been banned from the platform as a result of the copyright strikes issued to their channels. Twitch streamers have been on edge because of the situation, with many taking drastic measures to avoid getting hit with any further copyright strikes.

Twitch issued a lengthy statement about the influx of DMCA takedowns, but the overall reaction to the statement was mixed at best. Twitch is apparently working on implementing tools to help streamers avoid these issues in the future, but streamers are arguing that those tools should have been in place a long time ago. All in all, Twitch seems to be taking a much harder stance on streamers in regards to violating the platform’s guidelines. Whether or not any other streamers involved in the recent Twitch Rivals event will also receive disciplinary action remains to be seen.
