Subscriptions are one of the primary ways that streamers on Twitch can make a living doing the things they love. While viewers can typically subscribe to a channel whenever it is live, some content creators go the extra mile and host subathons to bolster their numbers. Most notably, Ludwig Ahgren ran a record-breaking live stream for 31 straight days in 2021, where he managed to get a sub count of 283,066. While this feat has not been matched, another popular streamer could be looking to change that in the near future.

Felix "xQc" Lengyel is a Twitch streamer from Canada. While the content creator started out as a pro player for the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League, he rose to fame when he started streaming full-time. Since then, he has attracted thousands of viewers regardless of what game he broadcasts. Despite this success, the streamer appears to have plans to take his Twitch channel to the next level.

During a live stream from March 21, xQc revealed that he was planning to have a subathon in the coming days. “Believe it or not, boys. I was setting up stuff for the subathon,” he told his viewers. He continued, saying that he had begun to “buy stuff” for the event. “I’m investing my time and money to make it come alive,” he said. While this excited many members of his Twitch chat, the streamer emphasized that there were still things that needed to be done before the event could happen. He noted that it was quite challenging to organize, but he insisted that the wait would be worth it.

In addition to revealing that the subathon could be coming soon, xQc gave some details about what to expect when it happens. According to the streamer, there will be approximately 2 or 3 large events each week, with smaller things going on each day. For example, he revealed plans for things like giveaways, sub contests, community servers for popular games like GTA and Minecraft, and much more. Furthermore, he noted that it could last 90 days. However, he said that would be the longest it would run.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that xQc has talked about a subathon, as he had brought up the idea as far back as April 2021, just a few days after Ludwig finished his broadcast. However, this recent discussion on xQc's Twitch channel seems to confirm that the event is happening relatively soon.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for xQc. Regardless, news of this upcoming subathon is likely exciting for many fans of the Canadian streamer. It seems only time will tell if this upcoming event will be able to break the previous subscriber record set by Ludwig.
