xQc is known to be a controversial figure among content creators, something that's contributed to his climb to become one of the most successful streamers on Twitch. But xQc is, at times, self-reflective of his own behavior and how it can be harmful not just to others but also to himself. In a recent Twitch broadcast, xQc acknowledges this to a degree, focusing on claims that he has an addictive personality and, in particular, is addicted to gambling.

In response to a message from a fan saying that xQc gambles a lot because he has a lot of money, xQc goes off on a bit of a rant. The rant starts relatively innocuous, with xQc saying that he "likes gambling" and jokingly explains that he finds a way to gamble in basically every game he plays. He mentions Grand Theft Auto 5, Gambling Simulator, and that no matter what he plays, "that's what I do. I enjoy it."

That's when the rant takes an interesting turn, as xQc goes from talking about how much he enjoys gambling to admitting that he has a serious issue with gambling, an addiction even. "I have one of the biggest, most insane addicted personalities you'll ever find," is how xQc describes his need to gamble as much as he's able. It's not just gambling, either. The Twitch streamer says he's addicted to everything he does because of how easily addicted he gets. He then says, "I shouldn't gamble, but I still do it."

Despite the self-awareness and the acknowledgment that gambling is perhaps unhealthy for himself, xQc does not indicate that he plans on making any changes. He says explicitly that his addiction is "terrible" and that he is "ill." However, xQc says he's "lucky" because he can "afford to be ill."

That's not to say that xQc doesn't recognize that a gambling addiction isn't harmful in general. He says that for other people, such an addiction can be very impactful. It's just not for him, because xQc's wealth is a buffer than enables him to take on the risk, or so he says.

This isn't the first time that xQc has talked about gambling. In 2021, xQc publicly apologized for hosting a gambling stream, saying he wished he could "take it back." At the time, he said gambling was dangerous and a vice, and further that people shouldn't do it. He pledged at the time to no longer stream real-money gambling on Twitch.
