Jake Paul and his brother have been the subject of controversy for the past year, from sparking drama with his neighbors, harassing journalists, and using misleading thumbnails to get views, it's easy to say Jake Paul doesn't have a clean reputation within the YouTube community. However, it seems that Paul has been jumping on the Fortnite bandwagon, recently uploading content related to Epic Games' massive hit title.

Twitch streamer Summit1g recently came under fire from his community after live-streaming Fortnite with Jake Paul. The streamer's audience gave multiple and consistent complaints through the chat in regards to Paul's attendance, with Summit1g noting during the stream that he "was a little disappointed in the chat," adding that he thought "[his chat] was a little bit different." He ended mentioning that "[he] thought some people had a little bit thicker skin."

Summit1g's backlash for streaming with Paul is a polar opposite to the positive feedback and publicity long-time Twitch streamer Ninja received for playing Fortnite with famous recording artists Drake and Travis Scott, and as a  result breaking the new record for concurrent viewers of a solo streamer at 650,000. Therefore, Summit1g took to Twitter to further express his concern with the criticism from the audience.

In a now deleted tweet, he elaborated what happened to those who didn't tune in - "I played like 5 end of the night squad games with Jake Paul and his friends last night," before getting to his own disappointment. "I had fun, everyone is pi**ed. And you know what Twitter? You disappoint me. Sup. I expect apologies raining in quick now. You messed up.”

One reply to the tweet expressed their concern simply. "U lost me as a fan for this.. he’s trash[.]" That was until they began to dive into how Summit1g's demographic  "obviously" disliked Jake Paul and as a result he shouldn't have streamed with him if he didn't want a load of controversy surrounding the decision.

To which Summit1g responded with, "who said I'm surprised [about the negative effect]?".

Conclusively, it seems as though Jake Paul's slow transition into streaming and joining the hype behind Fortnite has gained traction within the Twitch community, and forced yet another storm of controversy to surround him and those he plays with, seen here with Summit1g, who had recently expressed his lack of care for Logan Paul joining the platform.

Fortnite is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and iOS.
