The last couple of months have been a tumultuous time for Twitch. While many of the biggest names in video games stream on the platform, a number of issues threaten to change that. Following problems with hate raids and several popular streamers moving to other platforms, the company is facing some serious challenges. Fortunately for those that enjoy watching content on Twitch, streamer NICKMERCS recently revealed that he is staying on the platform.

NICKMERCS is a content creator on Twitch. A veteran on the platform, the streamer was a member of the streaming company back when it was called JustinTV. Since joining the streaming business back in 2010, he has gathered a large group of fans known as the MFAM. With close to 15 million followers and over 50,000 subscribers, he is one of the biggest draws on Twitch.

Recently, NICKMERCS announced that he had signed a new deal with Twitch, extending his longtime relationship with the platform. This new contract put an end to the speculation that the streamer was moving to a rival platform. Both NICKMERCS and Twitch posted videos on Twitter celebrating their continued partnership. While the exact details of the contract are unknown, it seems probable that the deal was huge, considering the popularity of the streamer and the likelihood that rival streaming services offered him substantial sums of money to join their platforms.

Besides this new agreement with Twitch, NICKMERCS has been busy with other endeavors as well. Earlier this year, he became a co-owner of the professional esports organization FaZe Clan. In addition, he signed a deal with Under Armour. That contract marked the first time the athletic company had ever signed a gamer-athlete.

This news regarding NICKMERCS’ new Twitch deal comes as several other high-profile streamers recently left Twitch. Last month, popular Warzone streamer TimTheTatman announced that he was going to YouTube. This move reunited him with his former streaming buddy, the controversial Dr. Disrespect. In addition, Dr. Lupo revealed that he had signed a contract with YouTube only a couple of days before Tim.

It will be interesting to see where NICKMERCS goes from here. After becoming frustrated with cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone, he has moved on to other games such as Apex Legends. However, he has taken a break from streaming since hosting a massive BBQ for members of his MFAM community. However, with this new contract under his belt, it seems that the streamer is poised to make a big return to streaming very soon.
