While Twitch was originally conceived as a live-streaming hub with a focus on gaming, the popular platform has become home to a wide variety of content. Twitch has featured everything from re-broadcasts of classic TV shows like Pokemon and The Joy of Painting to even live NFL games. Among the variety of content, "IRL" streams have become increasingly popular with streamers logging their day-to-day lives or real world misadventures. Now, one duo of streamers has found themselves stranded at sea live on stream.

The streaming duo Awkwards_Travel, known as Tallulah and Gaspard, have been documenting their voyage around the Mediterranean Sea by sailboat for the last month and a half, departing from Greece on May 10th. Twitch streams from the two have featured their visits to a variety of European locales like Sicily and Neapoli with the pair live for several hours as they sail around the inland sea. Now, however, the most recent stream from Awkwards_Travel reveals that the couple found themselves stranded at sea.

An IRL stream from Friday which has now been removed from the pair's channel details the events that would see Awkwards_Travel stranded. Following a diving session, Tallulah noticed an unexplained drop in the needles on the ship's dashboard prompting a restart of the boat which fizzled. With errant winds nearly causing the two's vessel to collide with a shipwreck they had previously explored, the two would remain stuck at sea for nearly four hours before the pair promptly ended the stream. Awkwards_Travel have not gone live on Twitch since the incident, though Tallulah would later confirm their safety via Twitter.

While the VOD has since been deleted from Twitch, Tallulah did close the stream with a plan for their viewers. Help was reportedly slated to arrive an hour after the stream's end with Tallulah saying the channel would go live once again when they are safe. Gaspard was more shaken by the situation claiming to not want to board another boat after the harrowing experience.

As real-world streams have become more popular, plenty of similarly unfortunate incidents have been captured live on stream. IRL streams have caught a variety of both amusing and frightening situations from a bird stealing a streamer's lunch to capturing car and moped accidents live on camera. Some streamers like Emiru have even refused to do IRL streams out of fear of doxxing from overzealous fans. Awkwards_Travel's on-stream experience was a harrowing addition to a deep catalog of their sea-faring travels.
