Asmongold is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch. While he plays a variety of MMORPGs, the streamer is well known for his World of Warcraft streams. In addition to playing these titles, the streamer isn’t afraid to voice his sometimes critical opinions on what these games could do better. With a loyal following, the MMO community tends to listen when he has something to say. Unfortunately for fans, over the past few months, the streamer has been absent from streaming on a number of occassions.

The World of Warcraft streamer's most recent break from streaming started following a September 16 broadcast. Following the stream, he tweeted a message regarding a personal matter that he had to deal attend to. In the message on social media, Asmongold revealed that his mother had become ill. While at the time of writing, the streamer hadn't disclosed the details of his mother’s health condition, he did reveal that he had taken her to the hospital. With this news, it seemed understandable that fans would probably be waiting a while longer to see the streamer return to Twitch.

However, on September 20, Asmongold threw his viewership a curveball when he decided to do a surprise stream. After starting the broadcast on his main channel, the streamer changed the stream to his second channel called zackrawrr. He titled the stream: “trying to take my mind off things.” As the title suggested, it seemed that the Twitch star was attempting to focus on something besides his current personal matters. During the stream, he checked out Valhiem and played some of Final Fantasy 14 as well.

The Twitch star's recent break from streaming is nothing new for his fans. Over the past couple of years, the streamer has had multiple extended absences from Twitch. Back in January, Asmongold took a nearly two-month hiatus from the platform. Furthermore, he recently had another absence that lasted several weeks.

These absences by Asmongold from streaming reveal that being a popular figure on Twitch can be a challenging job. In addition to having to provide entertainment for a large audience on a consistent basis, many streamers face mounting problems with toxic viewers. In some cases, these problems have even resulted in hate raids against Twitch streamers. The stress associated with the profession has even caused Asmongold to consider quitting streaming in the past.

It’s worth noting that it appears that this unscheduled Twitch stream from Asmongold on his second channel was impromptu and not part of his normal streaming schedule. At present, it is unknown when his regular streams on his main channel will return.
